SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY

In accordance with Public Law 101-226, "Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Amendment of 1989," the Board of Trustees of the Ventura County Community College District prohibits the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students, faculty, or staff on the premises of any of the colleges, the District Administration Center, or at any VCCCD-sponsored or sanctioned event.

Any student or employee in violation of this policy is subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the college or termination from employment for violations of District policy.

ALCOHOL ABUSE AND VIOLATIONS

Possession, use, and sale of alcoholic beverages on college campuses are limited to certain approved events and locations covered by the official policy of the VCCCD. Consumption or possession of alcohol by persons under the age of 21 is not permitted on the property of the District and its colleges, to include athletic fields.

All state laws regarding alcohol will be enforced by the VCCCD Police Department. Violators may be subjected to arrest, fine, imprisonment, and/or expulsion from the college.
