3/3/10 - 10:00 am: Disruptive student at VC. Officer responded to a call from the SHC of a student who had been disruptive in class, and was brought in by his instructor. The subject was speaking to himself and imaginary people; he had also had an altercation with another student. Subject's father was called, and officer released the subject to his parent.

 3/3/10 - 12:55 pm: Vandalism to vehicle parked in PA lot at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police office to report unknown person(s) had vandalized the front hood area of her vehicle. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

3/4/10 - 3:30 pm:  Inappropriate behavior at VC Library. Officer responded to a call of a subject in the Library acting suspiciously. The subject was contacted and confirmed as a student, and the officer admonished him to behave properly.

3/4/10 - 4:00 pm:  Theft from women's locker room at VC. Victim left a ring amongst other personal items in locker; when she returned, it had been taken without her permission. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

3/6/10 - 3:30 pm:  Vandalism to men's restroom in gym lobby at OC. Unknown person(s) pulled off the door to the handicapped stall. Photos and report taken.

3/8/10:  12:20 pm:  Theft from classroom at OC. Employee reported to campus police that a CD player, which had last been seen in a secured cabinet in his classroom on 3/4, was missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

3/9/10 - 9:30 am:  Theft from OC gym. While attending a PE class, victim set down cell phone. After class, phone was discovered missing. Check of the area produced no results. Report taken.

3/9/10 - 10:40 am:  Theft of a cell phone from PE class at OC. Victim reported to campus police that he had set his phone down during class; when class was over, he realized it had been taken. Area was checked with no results. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

3/9/10 - 1:25 pm:  Physical confrontation outside of OC Library. 2 suspects were involved in a fight over an iPod. They were both contacted by police and advised. Report taken.

3/9/10 - 4:00 pm:  Arrest for public intoxication at OC. Police officer was advised by concerned students that there was a person staggering while walking through the campus grounds. The officer located and interviewed the subject, who was staggering and swaying during the interview. The subject also displayed bloodshot eyes, thick slurred speech, and had a heavy aroma of alcohol eminating from his person. The officer placed the subject under arrest and transported him to Ventura County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident.

3/9/10 - 4:40 pm:  Theft of jacket from classroom at VC. Victim reported that unknown person took her coat from the classroom rack. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

3/10/10 - 2:30 pm:  Vandalism to vehicle parked in E-lot at OC. Victim reported to police officer that unknown suspect(s) used an unknown tool to make a foot-long indentation to the left front driver-side bumper. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

3/10/10 -  6:00 pm:  Disruptive student in LRC bldg at VC. Instructor came to the campus police station to report a student had been disruptive for the third time. She was escorted by another student to the station, as she was in fear for her safety. Officer took report; student will be referred to the Dean of Student Discipline; investigation continues.

3/11/10 - 11:20 am:  Hit and run (misdemeanor) in E-lot at VC. Victim reported to officer that his vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle, causing scratching and denting on the passenger-side front fender. He stated no note or information had been left on or around his vehicle. No witnesses or suspects; pictures and report taken.

 3/11/10 - 12:45 pm:  Vandalism to employee's vehicle in M/O parking lot at MC. Victim advised police officer via phone that unknown suspect(s) used an unknown tool to make scratch marks on driver's side door and left rear fender. No suspects or witnesses; pictures and report taken.

3/14/10 - 3:35 pm:  Assault with a deadly weapon at OC. Subject in a vehicle attempted to strike a pedestrian in the D-lot at OC. Officers responded to a call from a witness, who saw the vehicle swerve in an attempt to strike the pedestrian, who had to jump to avoid being struck. Investigation continues. 

3/17/10 - 5:00 pm:  Arson in trashcan at Science bldg at VC. Officer responded to report of trash can on fire in the Sci-bldg. Upon arrival, officer was advised that an employee had extinguished the fire with water from a cup. The officer investigated and found a paper bag had been filled with paper and lit using unknown means. Report taken.

3/18/10 - 1:30 pm:  Truancy and trespassing at Ventura College. Officers contacted three juveniles riding skateboards at the Outdoor State at VC. The officers determined the juveniles were truant from local high schools. The juveniles' parents were contacted and the juveniles were released to their parents.

3/18/10 - 7:40 pm:  Hit and run (misdemeanor) in H-lot at OC. Officer responded to report of a hit and run in the H-lot at OC. Victim reported that she was sitting in her vehicle when another vehicle backing out of a parking stall collided with her vehicle, causing moderate damage to the rear side and bumper. The driver of the vehicle fled without stopping to provide proof of insurance or exchange information with the victim, as required by law. Investigation continues.

3/18/10 - 9:30 pm: Theft from vehicle in parking lot near tennis courts at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police station to report that unknown person had gained entry to her vehicle using a spare key hidden on the vehicle. She did not give permission to anyone to enter the vehicle or remove her property. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

3/19/10 - 8:45 am:  Petty theft from men's restroom in LRC bldg at OC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station and reported that he had left his iPhone in the men's room for only a few moments. When he realized he didn't have it, he retraced his steps and encountered a subject exiting the stall the victim had been using only a couple of moments before. The victim confronted the subject who denied having the phone. The victim asked the subject to dial his, victim's, phone number, which the subject did, but victim did not hear phone ring. Victim then retraced his steps but was unsuccesful in locating phone. He then reported the loss to Campus Police. Report taken.

3/19/10 - 10:20 am: Domestic violence at VC. Officers responded to a complaint of domestic violence. Victim reported being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. Investigation pending. 

3/20/10 - 8:15 am: Loitering in a red zone at OC. Officer made contact with a driver and passenger who were in a vehicle that had stopped in a red zone for several minutes. The passenger stated the driver was dropping her off for school. The officer meanwhile had observed the pair kissing and talking during this time. The officer determined that the pair were not involved in a domestic disturbance and released them.

3/22/10 - 9:30 am:  Arrest of warrant subject at OC. A domestic disturbance in parking lot A was reported to officers, who responded. Upon contacting the male subject, officer determined subject had a warrant and subsequently arrested and transported him to Ventura County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident.

3/23/10 - 12:45 pm:  Report of disruptive student in OC class. Instructor called campus police to advise she had a disruptive subject. Officers contacted student and submitted name to dean for discipline.

3/24/10 - 11:25 am:  Disruptive person on campus at MC. Officer responded to a call of persons gathering signatures on ballot initiatives who had not completed proper paperwork in order to conduct such activities on campus. Officer advised the subject that there was protocol that needed to be followed in order to get permission to stay on campus, and that subject was subject to arrest for trespass if he did not follow the rules. Subject left without further incident; report taken.

3/24/10 - 9:15 pm:  Theft from vehicle in H-lot at OC. Officer responded to call of vehicle burglary in H-lot. Unknown suspect entered victim's vehicle by unknown means and removed property. Report  taken.

3/25/10 - 11:10 am:  Arrest of disruptive person from OC Library. Officers responded to a call of suspicious person in library attempting to obtain a log-in account illegally, to access the computers there. Officers contacted the suspect, who became verbally abusive, combative, and refused to cooperate with officers' investigation. She was subsequently arrested and transported to Ventura County Main Jail, where she was eventually booked after being uncooperative with deputies there as well.

3/25/10 - 7:40 pm:  Hit & run (misdemeanor) in E-lot at OC. Unknown vehicle struck victim's vehicle, leaving a moderate dent in the driver's side rear door. No witnesses or suspects; nor did victim find a note. Report taken; investigation continues.

3/25/10 - 11:20 pm: Warrant arrest of suspect in M lot at MC. Officer was patrolling when he encountered  subject loitering in the M lot. The officer had knowledge that the subject had an outstanding bench warrant. Officer made contact with suspect, confirmed outstanding warrant status through dispatch, and then subsequently arrested, transported and booked suspect into East County Jail without incident.

3/27/10 - 9:35 am:  Fence blown down by high winds at OC soccer field. Police responded to a call that a chain-link fence was blown down by the high winds; five people who were watching a soccer match were injured. Officers terminated the games for the rest of the day, for safety reasons. Report taken.
