Course Description
Work Experience Education provides supervised employment extending classroom occupational learning at an on-the-job learning station relating to the students’ educational or occupational goals. Each unit of credit requires 54 hours of employment during the semester. Work Experience Education is available to all students.  Students are accepted as a result of consultation with a designated faculty member in the discipline. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: Successful completion of a minimum of two courses in a specific Diesel Program. Transfer credit: CSU. Notes: Students may enroll in up to 14 units of work experience education per semester or term; There is no limit to the number of terms for which a student may enroll in work experience education.

Course Description
This course is an introduction to statistical thinking and processes, including methods and concepts for discovery and decision-making using data. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-squared, and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Students apply methods and processes to applications using data from a broad range of disciplines. Successful completion of this course fulfills the mathematics competency requirement for the AA/AS degree. Notes: Prior to Common Course Numbering, this course was known as MATH V44. This course provides just-in-time support and review for transfer-level Statistics. Math V44J is intended for students who are concurrently enrolled in Math V44. Topics include learning skills and just-in-time support for concepts from arithmetic, pre-algebra, elementary and intermediate algebra, and descriptive statistics that are needed to understand the basics of college-level statistics. Course Description
This course surveys the history of the Mexican people in the United States from the U.S. invasion of Mexico to the present time. Emphasis is placed on the politics of race, its origin in the colonial process, and its impact on the historical development of a Chicana/o ethnic identity in the United States. Concentrates on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Discussion centers on the participation, contributions, and experiences of/by Mexican Americans. Major areas include the socio-historical, political, judicial, legislative, economic, and educational experiences. Topics include the Mexican American Southwest, the U.S. Mexico War, American Expansionism, U.S. Treaties, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, California Constitution, desegregation struggle, American Nativism, Mexican Repatriation, WWII, Zoot-Suit Riots, Bracero Program, Mexican American Labor Movement and the Chicano Movement and their impact on political participation. This course explores the history of the United States from the earliest settlements through the Colonial Era and Independence, to the U.S. invasion of Mexico.
