Course Description
This course introduces the fundamentals of street dance, including dances such as hip-hop, pop and lock, hip-hop funk, freestyling, and break dancing, as well as an examination of the music, syncopations, and rhythms utilized in commercial and street dance performance spaces. Students will develop flexibility, strength, control, coordination, endurance, style, and an understanding and appreciation of street dance and its cultural significance and history. Course Description
In this course, students learn and apply foundational rhetorical theories and techniques of public speaking in a multicultural democratic society. Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches.
