9/01/10 - 10:30 am: Dog left in hot vehicle in E-lot at VC. Officer responded to report of dog left unattended in a vehicle parked in E-lot; at the time, officer did not feel that the animal's health was in jeopardy. However, 2 hours later, another report came in that the dog was still in the vehicle. Officer returned and found the animal had no water and it was panting. Attempts to find the owner were unsuccessful; therefore, officer contacted Animal Control, who took the dog into protective custody. A note was left on the windshield of the vehicle.
9/01/10 - 12:20 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in G-lot at MC. Victim came to police station to report that he found his vehicle had been damaged on the left front door and fender area. No note was left; no witnesses or suspects. Report taken.
9/01/10 - 5:50 pm: Indecent exposure near OC at Rose & Lindsay. Victim came to campus police to report that as she sat in her car, male subject exposed himself to her, then attempted to get into the car. Investigation continues; courtesy report taken and Oxnard PD was notified.
9/02/10 - 2:40 pm: Burglary from vehicle at MC. Officers responded to report of vehicle that had the right front window smashed. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/07/10 - 9:55 am: Burglary from vehicle at MC. Victim reported to Campus Police that unknown person(s) entered vehicle through unknown means and took his property. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/8/10 - 8:45 am: Burglary from vehicle in H-lot at MC. Victim reported that unknown suspect(s) used unknown object to smash passenger side of victim's vehicle, then removed property from passenger seat and fled in unknown direction. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/8/10 - 9:30 am: Burglary from vehicle in D-lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown hard object to break victim's right front vehicle window to gain entry and remove property. Suspects took only one item, leaving other valuables behind. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/8/10 - 7:15 pm: Fight during youth soccer game at OC. Officer responded to report of team members fighting, and interviewed victim and other parties. Victim stated that as she was running after the ball, she tripped with an opposing team member. They both fell to the ground, whereupon the suspect began punching victim. Another member from the suspect's team ran up and began kicking victim. Officer advised parents of both suspects that they were suspended from the campus for seven days, and he advised the head of the soccer league what had occurred.
9/8/10 - 12:15 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in F-lot at MC. Officer responded to report of hit-and-run in F-lot; victim reported unknown vehicle, travelling in unknown direction, collided with victim's passenger side rear fender and tire, then fled. No note or information left; no witnesses or suspects. Report taken.
9/9/10 - 11:15: Theft from Admin bldg at MC. Victim reported leaving iPhone plugged into electrical outlet on floor for about 15 minutes, during which time it was taken by unknown suspect. Report taken.
9/9/10 - 11:30 am: Petty theft from gym at MC. Victim reported credit card and miscellaneous cards stolen from his wallet, that he had left in his backpack in the gym. No suspect or witness information; report taken.
9/12/10 - 2:30 pm: Petty theft from swap meet vendor at VC. Officer responded to call from swap meet security guard reference a theft of produce from vendor; vendor stated she wanted to press charges because subject had been caught stealing earlier in the month, and had been warned at that time. Officer cited and released suspect; report taken.
9/13/10 - 6:00 pm: Medical incident at VC. Officer responded to report of unresponsive female at SSC building. He contacted victim sitting outside of bldg with her daughter. She was awake, but unable to stand. Victim refused medical transportation and was transported to the W-lot by police car. Report taken.
9/14/10 - 8:35 am: Petty theft from track at OC. Victim reported leaving a bag with keys and water bottle on ground near bleachers while running; unknown person(s) took bag and contents. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/14/10 - 6:25 pm: Graffiti report - men's restroom in LRC bldg, VC. Officer responded to report of graffiti found by student worker. Unknown suspect(s) marked wall with red paiint marker. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
9/14/10 - 8:05 pm: Graffiti report - women's restroom in science bldg at VC. Student advised officer of additional graffiti found during officer's investigation of a concurrent incident. Unknown suspect(s) marked door to women's restroom with red paint marker. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
9/15/10 - 10:00 am: Theft of bicycle from OC Student Services bike rack. Victim came to Police Station to report unknown person(s) had taken his unsecured bicycle without permission. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/15/10 - 2:20 pm: Report of threats against employee at OC. Officer responded to report of threats made by a student worker against an employee. Student contacted and advised. Report taken.
9/16/10 - 8:45 am: Disturbance in VC cafeteria. Officer responded to report that subject was causing a disturbance in the cafeteria over being overcharged for food. Victim was spouting obscenities and waving arms around, but was not making clear the reason why he was upset. Officer made contact with subject, calmed him down, and advised him to behave. Report taken.
9/16/10 - 10:15 am: Theft from vehicle parked in D lot at MC. Victim came to Police Station to report unknown suspect(s) smashed his vehicle's passenger-side window and removed his property. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
9/16/10 - 2:30 pm: Theft from gym locker at MC. Victim came to Police Station to report that his gym locker had been broken into and cash removed from his wallet. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/17/10 - 6:00 am: Theft from vehicle parked in SP-lot at VC. Victim reported that unknown person(s) smashed right passenger window of vehicle and removed property without permission. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/18/10 - 7:00 pm: Possession of marijuana at MC. Officer was patrolling H-lot on foot when he noticed a strong odor of burning marijuana emanating from a vehicle parked adjacent to the handicapped stalls. Officer approached the driver, who admitted to smoking marijuana and consented to have his vehicle searched. Officer's investigation turned up approximately
9/19/10 - 12:00 pm: Theft of cell phone from VC Market Place. Victim set phone down on chair to assist customer, and when she turned back, it was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/20/10 – 9:30 am: Theft of projector from classroom at MC. Officers responded to report of missing projector. Investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) used a tool to gain entry; whereupon the projector was removed by unknown means. No suspects or witnesses; report taken. Investigation continues.
9/20/10 – 10:35 am: Burglary from Financial Aid office at MC. Officer responded to report of possible burglary that occurred over the weekend in the Financial Aid office. A hard drive and some RAM module chips were removed from various computers in the office. No suspects or witnesses; report taken, pending further investigation.
9/21/10 - Bike stolen from Science Bldg at VC. Victim advised he left locked bicycle and helmet in bike rack; when he returned, the bike, helmet and cable were gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/21/10 - 11:20 am: Backpack stolen from Campus Center at MC. Victim reported that he left his backpack at the entrance to the cafeteria. When he returned, backpack was gone. The backpack was later returned to the victim, minus the biology book. Report taken; investigation pending.
9/21/10 - 5:50 pm: Package taken from staff mailroom at MC. Officer responded to report of theft from mailroom. Employee reported that he received notification that the package was in his mail slot, however when he went to get it, it was not there. Report taken; investigation continues.
9/22/10 – 9:00 am: Theft of projector from classroom at MC. Officers responded to report of missing projector from classroom. No suspects or witnesses; report taken. Investigation continues.
9/22/10 – 3:30 pm: Theft of projector from classroom at VC. Officers responded to report of theft of a projector from classroom. No suspects or witnesses; report taken; investigation continues.
9/24/10 - 11:55 am: Medical emergency at VC. Officer responded to report of employee with hand caught in shredder; the officer was able to pry the blades open enough for employee to remove hand. EMT responded and employee was taken to ER for further evaluation.
9/24/10 - 12:56 pm: Mutual combat at VC. Officers responded to call from dispatch advising fight in progress north of Admin Bldg at VC. Officers interviewed subjects; victim stated he was advised by 2 witnesses that suspect was observed removing items from victim's backpack and placing them into another backpack. Victim confronted suspect and asked for his property, who denied taking his property. The two then began scuffling, at which time they were separated by the police. Officers searched the backpack and victim identified his property. Suspect was cited and released, and told not to return to campus until meeting with Dean of Discipline. Report taken.
9/25/10 - 3:40 pm: Baby stroller struck by vehicle (non-injury) during Swap Meet at VC. Truck navigating slowly through 2 booths inadvertently struck a baby stroller, which caused the back left tire to fall off. Neither baby nor mother were injured, nor was driver. Report taken.
9/26/10 - 3:15 pm: Mutual combat at OC. Officers responded to call from dispatch advising fight in progress in the D-parking lot. Interview of the subjects determined that the fight occurred as a dispute over a parking space. After interviewing all subjects and witnesses, no one desired prosecution; officers advised all parties, who left campus.
9/27/10 - 12:00 pm: Petty theft from Student Health Center restroom at VC. Victim reported that she inadvertently left her cell phone and water bottle in restroom; when she returned for them, they were gone. No witnesses; report taken.
9/27/10 - 4:30 pm: Alcohol on campus at VC. Officer responded to report of 2 subjects chasing another alongside the LRC bldg. The officer made contact with subjects, and noticed a can on the ground which later turned out to contain flavored malt liquor. During interview, officer also found drug paraphernalia. Officer cited and released subjects for possession of alcohol on school campus and for minor in possession of alcohol. Subjects were advised to leave and not to return to campus until they had met with the Dean of Discipline.
9/28/10 - 2:30 pm: Cite and release at MC. Officer responded to report that a subject who was suspected of stealing backpacks, was back on campus. Officer contacted suspect, who admitted to stealing the backpacks. Suspect was cited for petty theft and released; report taken.
9/28/10 - 5:40 pm: Theft from vehicle in E lot at OC. Victim reported leaving a backpack in vehicle with windows down (due to the warm weather.) Upon returning to his vehicle, backpack was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
9/29/10 - 12:00 pm: Medical emergency at VC. Victim came to VC Police Station stating she had smoked marijuana with some friends in the E-parking lot approximately a half hour earlier, and as a result was feeling extremely ill. EMS responded and transported victim to emergency room for further evaluation. Report taken; victim referred to Dean of Discipline for conduct violation.
9/30/10 - 9:00 am: Graffiti in men's restroom in LRC at VC. Cadet responded to report of fresh graffiti in the second-floor men's restroom of the LRC bldg. Cadet observed the letters "DES" marked upon the north wall of the handicapped stall. Report taken.
9/30/10 - 12:30 pm: Arrest at VC. Subject was contacted by officer for smoking marijuana, and during the interview it was discovered subject had multiple warrants. Suspect was taken into custody and booked at Ventura County Main Jail without incident. Report taken.
9/30/10 - 2:45 pm: Illegal activity in illegally-parked motorhome near OC M&O bldg. Officer responded to complaints regarding an illegally-parked motorhome near the M&O bldg., which was drawing electricity from the building. Officer made contact with driver and noticed a heavy odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the motorhome. A search of the interior revealed a small quantity of marijuana in a container, which the officer confiscated. Owner of motorhome was cited and released; report taken.
9/30/10 - 6:30 pm: Fight in gym at VC. Officers responded to report of fight in gym. Combatants were separated and victim stated he was attacked by suspect, who had accused him of having relations with suspect's girlfriend. Officers contacted witnesses, and advised combatants to leave campus. Student misconduct report filed on suspect. Report taken.
