In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of C or “P” or better. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: Placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process. Transfer credit: CSU; UC. This course allows students to rehearse and perform as actors utilizing introductory to intermediate level skills in a college production staged for public performance. The course involves the use of varying content from different lifestyles, periods, and cultures with production schedules and will range from classical to contemporary, published comedic, dramatic, and/or musical theatre material. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: THTR R191A. Transfer credit: CSU.
