This introductory course examines the progression of development in the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains and identifies developmental milestones for children from conception through adolescence. Interactions between biological processes and environmental factors will be explored. Students will observe children, evaluate individual differences, and analyze characteristics of development at various stages according to developmental theories. This course surveys immigration in the United States and how the paralegal supports the immigration attorney. Topics covered include: visitors for business and pleasure, temporary visas, employment based preferences, asylum, and citizenship. This co-requisite course provides additional help and support for students enrolled in ENGL C1000 Academic Reading and Writing. The course will provide support instruction in areas of the ENGL C1000 curriculum where students tend to require more attention.
