In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of C or “P” or better. This course surveys immigration in the United States and how the paralegal supports the immigration attorney. Topics covered include: visitors for business and pleasure, temporary visas, employment based preferences, asylum, and citizenship. This co-requisite course provides additional help and support for students enrolled in ENGL C1000 Academic Reading and Writing. The course will provide support instruction in areas of the ENGL C1000 curriculum where students tend to require more attention. Examines dance through lectures and viewing dance performances both live and on video. Presents the developments of dance within each of the major genres and analyzes the factors which have influenced change in dance historically, culturally, and as an art form.
