This course introduces the language of medicine through the study of word structure, pronunciation, and meaning. Students learn the origins and components of medical terms, including prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms, and apply them to anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnostic tests, and procedures across all major body systems. Emphasis is placed on correct usage, spelling, and interpretation of medical vocabulary related to body structure, systems, and common diseases. Students will also learn acronyms and common abbreviations used within healthcare. This course is designed for students pursuing careers in health, fitness, and medical fields. Transfer credit: CSU.

Explores expanded techniques in recording, editing and mixing. Examines and develops skills required for session management, and effective use of Musical Instrument Digital Interfaces (MIDI), audio manipulation, signal processing, and submixing to improve commercial mixing. Provides opportunities to produce sessions for mid-size recordings. Prerequisites: MUS 40A - Pro Tools Fundamentals I. Transfer credit: CSU. Notes: ProTools software will be provided by the college; enrollment in MUS M80 internship course while taking this class in order to practice studio applications of ProTools is highly recommended; completion of MUS M40A and MUS M40B can prepare the student for the Avid Certified User credential.
