This course is an introduction to statistical thinking and processes, including methods and concepts for discovery and decision-making using data. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-squared, and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Students apply methods and processes to applications using data from a broad range of disciplines. Successful completion of this course fulfills the mathematics competency requirement for the AA/AS degree. Notes: Prior to Common Course Numbering, this course was known as MATH V44. Work Experience Education provides supervised employment extending classroom occupational learning at an on-the-job learning station relating to the students’ educational or occupational goals. Each unit of credit requires 54 hours of employment during the semester. Work Experience Education is available to all students.  Students are accepted as a result of consultation with a designate faculty member in the discipline. Fees will be required. Field trips may be required. Recommended Prep: Students should contact the instructor and review the requirements for units of credit. Notes: The State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority may deny licensure to those with criminal records; Students may enroll in up to 14 units of work experience education per semester or term; There is no limit to the number of terms for which a student may enroll in work experience education.

This course introduces the theoretical and practical issues related to conducting business via the Internet. Topics covered in this course include evolving e-business models, Web-based technologies, value chains, electronic marketing, payment systems, security, ethics, legal, international, and cross-cultural issues. Familiarity with navigating the Internet is assumed. Transfer credit: CSU.

This introductory course examines the progression of development in the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains and identifies developmental milestones for children from conception through adolescence. Interactions between biological processes and environmental factors will be explored. Students will observe children, evaluate individual differences, and analyze characteristics of development at various stages according to developmental theories. The course will also examine cultural, economic, political, and historical contexts that impact children's development. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
