This is the study of how managers use accounting information in decision-making, planning, directing operations and controlling. The course focuses on cost terms and concepts, cost behavior, cost structure and cost-volume-profit analysis. Issues relating to cost systems, cost control, profit planning, and performance analysis in manufacturing and service environments are included. Field trips may be required. This course furthers basic design skills and develops conceptual and technical abilities to amplify content through form, image, typography, symbolism, and experimentation. It requires hands-on experience in creative problem solving including the exploration of rhythm and balance, texture, figure/ground, visual hierarchy, color, time and motion, and other components, through a variety of media. Field trips may be required. Prerequisites: ART R177A or Suitable Portfolio. Recommended Prep: ART R173. Transfer credit: CSU.
