Course Description
This course is an introduction to the science of life, cell biology, metabolism, diet, genetics, evolution and ecology and will include current issues and news on these topics. Credit will not be awarded for both the regular and honors versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of C or better or "P." Field trips may be required. Recommended Prep: BIOL R101L or concurrent enrollment; eligibility for ENGL C1000; course taught at the level of intermediate algebra or placement as determined by the college's multiple measures assessment process. This course is an introduction to psychology, which is the study of the mind and behavior. Students focus on theories and concepts of biological, cognitive, developmental, environmental, social, and cultural influences; their applications; and their research foundations. Course Credit Limitations: Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course.
