Environmental Science
The Environmental Science Program at Moorpark College is dedicated to the success of all its students. We offer the opportunity to excel in Environmental Science by providing the latest information in both the lecture and laboratory settings in conjunction with emerging green technology.
ESRM focuses on a scientific perspective, (physical, chemical, and biological processes) within the Earth system, the interactions between humans and these processes, and the role of science in finding sustainable solutions. Topics include ecological principles, biodiversity, climate change, sustainability, renewable and non-renewable energy, water resources, air and water pollution, and solid waste management. Field Trips are part of the learning experience.
Students participating in the Environmental Science program will examine the role and impacts of humans in various ecosystems with a focus on resource management for the purpose of sustainability for both humans and the environments that provide ecosystem services for them and other living things.
