About
Ryan Petitfils has taught mathematics at the community college level since 2009.
At Ventura College, he teaches MATH V22, STAT C1000, and ENGR V14, leads the Learn From Your Peers faculty mentoring program, and supports innovative teaching through open educational resources and emerging technologies, including AI.
His academic interests include applied mathematics, linear algebra and mathematical proofs, graph theory, networks, and MATLAB programming.
A lifelong learner who enjoys technology and exploring new ideas, Ryan brings the same curiosity to life outside the classroom. He practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, hikes Ventura’s local trails, and surfs the California coast.
