Introduces the core tasks that are likely to be performed by behavior technicians: measurement, assessment, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, documentation and reporting, and professional conduct and scope of practice. Presents evidence-based instruction on behavioral concepts, procedures for skill acquisition, strategies for problem behavior reduction, and professional and ethical conduct. Prepares students for the competency assessment required of all RBT credential applicants.

Develops students’ learning strategies for college and life skill success. Examines and practices critical thinking, study methods, learning styles, time management, test preparation and test-taking, and self-regulated learning. Addresses psychological, physiological, and sociological issues that impact the culture of higher education and help prepare students for college readiness. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
