I have been teaching chemistry at Ventura College for the last 16 years. Before this, I taught at Allan Hancock College (Santa Maria, CA) for five years and before that I taught at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo for two years. Yes, that means I am old--as my kids like to point out.
Before all of this teaching, I got a MS in Chemistry at UC-Irvine focused on environmental chemistry, and before that I got a BS in Chemistry from Georgia Tech.
On the personal side, I grew up in Augusta, Georgia (mostly). I have two daughters who are 8 and 11 years old. I like to spend most of my free time hiking, biking and traveling.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my classes or the chemistry program at Ventura College

Hello! I am passionate about supporting underrepresented students to thrive in higher education. I got my start in the field by working for TRIO programs at Cal Poly SLO and CLU and was also an AmeriCorps fellow at non-profit organizations in Seattle, WA and Boston, MA. I've worked for VCCCD for 5+ years where I started at Moorpark College as a Student Success Coach for FYE and Project CHESS and later as a Transfer Coach for Proyecto Éxito at Oxnard College. Currently, I am fortunate to be able to coordinate NextUp at Ventura College and support current and former foster youth on their college journey. On a personal note, I am a lover of cats, house projects, and travel adventures.
