Describe your position in 2-3 sentences:
I provide direct support to the Chancellor and VCCCD Board of Trustees as Clerk of the Board. Much of my position involves preparing for board and committee meetings, such as the VCCCD Board of Trustees meetings, Chancellor’s Cabinet, Chancellor’s Consultation Council, and the VCCCD Planning, Accreditation, and Student Success (PASS) Committee. I am the official notetaker in meetings, manage calendars, make travel arrangements, plan events, and perform a wide assortment of other duties.
How long have you worked for the District?
I have worked for the District for almost 12 years. I began on Valentine’s Day 2011 as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice President at Moorpark College. In 2016, I transferred to Oxnard College as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Student Services. I began my current position as the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor in February 2022.
Are you a VCCCD alum? If yes, which college?
Yes, I have two associate degrees from Ventura College (liberal arts and business). After graduating from Ventura College, I continued my education at National University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-law studies and a master’s degree in business with an emphasis on organizational leadership.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my four grandkids. I love the outdoors, hiking, good BBQ, good music, good people, and good food.
What do you find rewarding about your job or career?
What I find most rewarding about my career is being able to connect people with life-changing opportunities through higher education. I’ve come across many people in casual conversation who aren’t aware of the many opportunities available at community colleges.
I enjoy connecting students with the incredible resources available to them, whether they’re high school students, first-generation college students, adult-ed, single parents, or just struggling to find direction. Being able to follow their stories of struggle to success is incredibly rewarding. Graduation is definitely one of my favorite times of the year.
Do you do any volunteer work? If so, what?
My current schedule keeps me very busy, so I’m not currently doing any volunteer work, but I have worked an assortment of volunteer positions throughout the years that include Basic Needs Centers at the colleges and food distribution events at various schools and local churches.
I’ve also worked as a volunteer to staff various booths for school or church carnivals, sporting events, street fairs, retreats, animal rescues, and various other events.

Bonus Question: Where is your happy place?
My happy place is when I’m helping others, being at the gym, hanging out with my grandkids, and cooking, sharing a good meal and laughs with friends.
