Substance and Alcohol Abuse
SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY
In accordance with Public Law 101-226, “Drug
Free Schools and Communities Act Amendment of 1989,” the Board of
Trustees of the Ventura County Community College District prohibits the
unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol
by students, faculty or staff on the premises of any of the colleges,
the District Administration Center, or at any VCCCD sponsored or
sanctioned event.
Any student or employee in violation of this policy is subject
to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the college
or termination from employment for violations of District policy.
ALCOHOL ABUSE AND VIOLATIONS
Possession, use and sale of alcoholic beverages on campus are
limited to certain approved events and locations covered by the
official policy of the VCCCD. Consumption or possession of alcohol by
persons under the age of 21 is not permitted on the property of the
District and its colleges, to include athletic fields.
All state laws regarding alcohol will be enforced by the VCCCD
Police Department. Violators may be subjected to arrest, fine,
imprisonment and or expulsion from the college.
