Communication Studies

Communication is one of the most fundamental skills any student can acquire. Oral communication competence is the most highly prized and sought after skill in the professional world, and an indispensable requirement for succeeding in
all academic disciplines. The Communication Studies Department offers both theoretical and practical classes.
The Associate in Arts in Communication Studies for Transfer (AA-T in Communication Studies) at Oxnard College offers students curriculum that embraces the many facets of human communication including public speaking, argumentation, interpersonal, intercultural, and group communication. Students will ultimately enhance their communication competency by studying theories and concepts; students will also engage in practical communicative demonstrations.
