(MOORPARK, Calif.) June 10, 2019 -
Moorpark College is launching its new Program for Accelerated College Education (PACE), a fast-track college initiative designed for busy adults. The program allows students to earn an Associate degree in Business Administration or Early Childhood Education in about two years.
PACE provides a course schedule that accommodates the busy schedules of young professionals and working adults. Students enrolled in the program take two classes every eight weeks. Most of the courses offered can be taken online or in a hybrid format.
Once students complete their Associate degree, they have the option of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at one of Moorpark College’s transfer-partner universities. These institutions, which also offer programs tailored to busy adults, include CSU Channel Islands, and California Lutheran University, among others.
Moorpark College president, Julius Sokenu, looks forward to the launch of PACE. "We are excited to offer this new program to our community’s busy adults," shares Sokenu. "As the state’s top community college for student completion, Moorpark College is well suited to help PACE students advance their educational and career goals."
PACE classes are currently scheduled to begin in the fall of 2019. Visit MoorparkCollege.edu/PACE to see the program’s course schedule and to apply. For any further questions, contact Moorparkfirstname.lastname@example.org.
Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. It is set on 150 beautiful acres, nestled in the foothills on the southeastern flank of Ventura County, about 40 miles from UCLA, and approximately 75 miles from UC Santa Barbara. It is also a short drive from CSU Northridge, CSU Channel Islands, and California Lutheran University. Moorpark College was recognized in the Huffington Post in March of 2015 as the fourth-best community college in the nation. It has an excellent reputation for university transfer preparation, and its signature career/technical programs include nursing, radiation technology, biotechnology, and exotic animal training, which incorporates the world-renowned America’s Teaching Zoo. The college also offers a dynamic range of classes and programs in the visual and performing arts, and its pristine athletic fields and mild climate provide an excellent home for student athletes.
