Jessica Herrera is the Student Success Assistant for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at Oxnard College. She brings more than 12 years of experience in student support services and is passionate about helping students achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals.
Jessica spent the last 15 years in Northern California, where she earned her bachelor's degree from California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and later completed her graduate studies at San José State University. She then returned to CSUMB, and served as an Academic Advisor for over 10 years, supporting students through every stage of their educational journey.
As a first-generation student advocate, Jessica is especially dedicated to empowering first-generation college students as they navigate the opportunities and challenges of higher education. She believes that every student deserves access to the resources, guidance, and encouragement needed to succeed. Through TRIO SSS, Jessica is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students can build confidence, overcome obstacles, and reach their educational and career aspirations.
