NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above-named California Community College District, acting by and through its Board of Trustees, hereinafter referred to as “the District” will receive up to, but not later than 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2006, sealed Bid Proposals for the award of a contract for: Project #19302-P: Interior Plumbing replacement of existing plumbing lines and installation of new plumbing lines for areas within the Applied Arts, HSS and Technology Buildings.

Bid Proposals must conform with, and be responsive to, the Bid and Contract Documents, copies of which may be obtained from Cyber copy 3020 Sherwin Ave., Suite D, Ventura, CA 93003 (805) 642-3292.

All Bid Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the District within the Bid documents.  Bids shall be received at Ventura County Community College District, 333 Skyway Dr., Camarillo, CA  93010, Attn: Purchasing Department.  Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by: (a) the required Bid Security; (b) Subcontractors List; (c) Non-Collusion Affidavit; and (d) Statement of Bidder’s Qualifications.  Bids will be opened and publicly read at the stated time and place.

Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of any additive alternate bid item(s).  Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by the required Bid Security shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected.

A mandatory Job-Walk will begin at: 9:00 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2006 .  Bidders are to meet and register at the Moorpark College Maintenance & Operations Department, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark, CA 93021. (805) 387-1454.

In accordance with Section §1773 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor shall post a copy of the determination prevailing rates of wages at each job site. A copy of these determinations, entitled “PREVAILING WAGE SCALE” are available to any interested party through the internet at:  The Contractor and any Subcontractor(s) shall not pay less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed by them in execution of the contract.

Pursuant to Public Contract Code §3300, Bidder must possess a current California Contractors Class B or C36 License at the time that the Contract for the Work is awarded.

Any Bidder shall not withdraw bid Proposals for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals.

In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code §22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies to ensure performance under the Contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor.

All work must be completed no later than Forty Five (45) Calendar Days.

Estimated cost $40,000.00

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
