The Division of Economic Development is a district operation that was established on September 1, 2009. All economic development personnel, initiatives and contract education projects previously maintained at the campuses were consolidated into one division now housed at 71 Day Road, Ventura, California, a district satellite center. We are committed to helping California businesses and organizations stay strong and competitive. Our purpose is to actively promote and support the growth of the state's economy by providing employers with consultation and customized training that allows them to maintain a capable and effective workforce.
The division will excel in the present and future economic development environment as a provider of customized training support to local business and industry seeking to maintain a strong and competitive workforce.
The mission of the division is to support and complement the district/colleges' economic development and workforce education goals and objectives.
- Providing local employers with customized training support that will enable them to maintain a skilled and competitive workforce.
- Providing the three colleges, the district service center, and external partners with a clearinghouse of information to address economic development issues of mutual concern in a collaborative manner.
- Providing the district with an internal economic development venue that allows for the creation of non-general fund revenues that can be used to maintain and supplement the operational cost of the organization.
