In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of a course. Credit will be awarded only for the first course completed with a grade of C or “P” or better. This course is an introduction to the science of life, cell biology, metabolism, diet, genetics, evolution and ecology and will include current issues and news on these topics. Students will be introduced to the various application programs that make up the suite of Microsoft Office. The focus for this course will be on learning the basic features of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Students will learn to apply these productivity tools to various business documents.
