VC Student Math League Competition

Wednesday, March 2, 2016 - 3:00pm

It’s that time of year again…

The Student Math League Competition is scheduled for

Wednesday, March 2nd at 3pm in Sci-354. This is a nationwide

20-question multiple choice test designed to push your problem

solving abilities to their limits. The test is directed at students with

knowledge in Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Statistics.

Calculators are permitted.

The top 5 scores at Ventura College will be used to rank our

school at the national level. We will present these individuals with

awards at then end of the school year. This is a great resume

builder. The test is challenging and fun! In addition, a $3000

scholarship will be awarded to the top scorer in the nation.

George Craciun is currently leading weekly workshops in

preparation for the exam. Feel free to join him and other students

as he works with you through old exams focusing on problem

solving techniques and test taking strategies.

All Ventura College students are invited to take part in the

workshops and competitions. I hope to see many of you there. If

you have any questions, please email me at
