The Chancellor has designated the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources as the Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Administrator for the Ventura County Community College District. The Deputy Chancellor at the District Services Center and the three College Presidents of Moorpark College, Oxnard College and Ventura College are IIPP Coordinators with location-specific responsibility for the IIPP. The Deputy Chancellor and Presidents are responsible for ensuring that the District’s policies and practices are implemented, the employees assigned to the operating units are provided a safe and healthful work place and that operations are in compliance with this Injury & Illness Prevention Program and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
The Deputy Chancellor and College Presidents are responsible for the IIPP and implementation of program requirements. The Risk Manager will act as consultant to the IIPP program coordinators.
SITE OR LOCATION COORDINATORS
The Site (Location) Coordinator is responsible for providing general program guidance and support to the location management team. This individual (at each college) will work with location management to ensure implementation of the IIPP. The college President at each college designates the college’s location coordinator and the Deputy Chancellor designates the site coordinator at the District Administration Center.
SITE OR LOCATION MANAGERS
The Division Deans, Administrators, Department Directors, and Managers are designated as Site (Location) Managers and are responsible for ensuring the location (colleges and District Administration Center) managers and supervisors, that report to them, and all employees implement this IIPP and associated programs and practices required to meet all applicable regulatory requirements. The Site Managers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthful workplace, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with all Cal/OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety and health standards and regulations.
The employees must comply with the provisions of the IIPP and health and safety regulations, promptly report unsafe activities and conditions to management, and actively participate in safety and health training and other related activities.
The contractors must have their own IIPP and their Program must complement the District’s IIPP. The contractors must meet all regulatory requirements and actively participate in location health and safety activities as required in contracts and purchase orders.
OTHERS UNDER THE PURVIEW OF THE IIPP
All others (e.g., approved volunteers, associated student officers, student aides and hourly employees.) under the purview of this IIPP must comply with the provisions of the Program and health and safety regulations, promptly report all unsafe activities and conditions to management, and actively participate in safety and health training and other related activities.
The IIPP Administrator maintains the list of all Site Coordinators, and Site Managers in the Illness and Injury Prevention Program, as well as all current safety instruction, guidelines and manuals.
