4/01/11 - 7:45 am: Petty theft from vehicle parked near DP bldg at VC. Victim reported leaving rear passenger side door unlocked; vehicle had been rummaged through and property removed. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
4/03/11 - 7:00 am: Vandalism to shed on football field at VC. Officer responded to report that a shed on the football field had been broken into. Officer observed that a portion of the door had been bent inward. No witnesses or suspects; investigation continues. Report taken.
4/04/11 - 8:15 am: Vandalism to vehicle parked in W-lot at VC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report that unknown person(s) used unknown sharp object to scratch her vehicle on the passenger side. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
4/05/11 - 5:00 pm: Battery at VC. Victim was approached by suspects who demanded money for an iPod that allegedly had been damaged by the victim. Victim refused to pay and was grabbed by the suspects and told they were going to beat him up. A witness intervened and the suspects left. Report taken; investigation continues.
4/06/11 - 11:00 am: Grafitti in men's room at East Campus Center. Employee reported unknown person(s) wrote obscenities and the letters "EX2" in red marker on the ceiling. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
4/10/11 - 2:45 pm: Possession of alcohol on school grounds at OC. Officers observed three individuals, who were watching a soccer game, holding styrofoam cups. As officers approached the 3, they placed the cups behind them on the bleachers. Upon interviewing the subjects, officers discovered in a gym bag a paper cup containing what appeared to be tomato juice and beer, as well as a full bottle of beer and some empties. The subjects were cited and released without incident. Report taken.
4/13/11 - 8:30 am: Bicycle stolen from rack near Sci/Math bldg at VC. Victim reported to Campus Police that he had parked his bicycle in the bike rack and locked it; upon his return, he found the lock had been cut in two and his bicycle taken without permission. Report taken.
4/16/11 - 11:50 pm: Arson in G lot at OC. Officer was on patrol when he noticed smoke coming from the construction site area. Upon investigation, he noticed a brush fire burning along a chain link fence. Oxnard Fire responded and extinguished the flames. No evidence was found. Report taken.
4/17/11 - 10:30 am: Minor injury at VC Marketplace. Driver of vehicle was backing out of vendor spot and didn't see victim kneeling. Driver's vehicle struck a pole that then struck victim on calf. At the time of impact, victim stated he was fine; however, he decided to file a report with police for inner pain in his calf. Report taken.
4/19/11 - 9:40 pm: Controlled substance in vehicle parked in W-lot at VC. Cadet reported a vehicle had a small container of marijuana sitting in plain view on passenger seat. Officer responded and made contact with driver, who stated he had a medical use card for the marijuana, but did not have it with him. Officer confiscated marijuana and a handicapped placard, for which driver did not have authorization. Driver was cited and released for both violations. Report taken.
4/20/11 - 2:15 pm: Domestic abuse at MC. Officer responded to report of disturbance outside the Admin Bldg. Staff member reported yelling & screaming coming from outside her office. A witness reported seeing a male grab a female and throw her to the ground. Suspect was gone on arrival; officer and representative from the Student Health Office interviewed victim. Report taken.
4/21/11 - 12:30 pm: Bicycle stolen at VC. Victim came to Campus Police to report unknown person(s) cut his bike lock and stole his bicycle from the rack. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
4/21/11 - 1:45 pm: Hit and run (misdemeanor) in N-lot at VC. Officer responded to report of hit and run in N-lot. Victim stated she parked her car and went to class. Unknown vehicle collided with right rear quarter panel, causing moderate damage. Unknown vehicle then fled without leaving a notice or insurance information. No suspects or witnesses. Report taken.
4/24/11 - 6:00 pm: Violation of court order at OC. Officer was approached by victim who stated that her ward was with his biological father, who had not returned him, in violation of a court order. Officer initiated a welfare check on both ward and father with neighboring agency. Investigation continues; report taken.
4/25/11 - 8:00 am: Graffiti report on south side of SSC bldg at VC. Employee reported seeing graffiti on bldg. Unknown person(s) used black marker to write the words "AVER SL" in foot-high letters. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
4/25/11 - 11:55 pm: False crime report filed with VC Campus Police. Subject came to Campus Police to report unknown person(s) tipped over his motorcycle and stole his cell phone. Review of security cameras did not show this to be the case. Upon interview, subject admitted that although the motorcycle had been tipped over &his cell phone stolen, it did not occur on campus. Subject was cited and released for making false report; report taken.
4/26/11 - 2:00 pm: Grand theft from classroom at MC. Victim inadvertently left computer case in classroom-when he returned it was gone. Police checked the area with negative results. No suspects or witnesses. Report taken.
4/26/11 - 5:35 pm: Petty theft from restroom near women's locker room at VC. Victim came to Campus Police to report she had set her phone on the sink while using the restroom. When she exited the stall approximately one minute later, her phone was gone. Victim stated a witness told her there were 2 other females in the bathroom, but witness did not see anyone take phone. Officer checked area with negative results. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.
4/26/11 - 5:45 pm: Auto theft from W-lot at VC. Victim came to Campus Police to report her car had been stolen. Officer escorted victim to West Lot, where they checked with negative results. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
4/27/11 - 2:00 pm: Petty theft from Faculty Resource Center at OC. Staff member reported to Campus Police that there was a web camera and headset missing from the Center. Officer checked area with negative results. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
4/27/11 - 5:40 pm: Misuse of handicapped placard at MC. Officer was patrolling and saw driver parked in handicapped stall. Officer asked for verification of the handicapped placard and driver was unable to provide it. Driver was cited for not having proof of handicapped placard and not having a valid driver's license. Report taken.
