8/02/09 - 12:30 pm: Harassment of vendor at VC Marketplace. Victim was approached by suspect and challenged to fight; also, suspect threatened to kill victim's family. Officer responded; suspect had fled upon officer's arrival. Victim stated the problem arose over his girlfriend, who is the suspect's former girlfriend. Victim does not feel overly concerned, because this has been going on for over a year, but is tired of the drama. Victim will be obtaining a restraining order against suspect; report taken.

8/03/09 - Bet 7/17-7/20, petty theft from west field at VC. Unknown suspect(s) took two five-foot steel beams. No witnesses or suspect information; report taken.

8/05/09 - 10:15 am: Graffiti on construction fence that encloses the north side of SSC Bldg. at VC, and on map board between LRC Bldg and SSC Bldg. Unknown suspects(s) used white ink to deface a map board and green spray paint to deface the construction yard fence of the E-lot. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

8/05/09 - 1:00 pm: Petty theft from LRC at OC. Employee left wallet in drawer; when she went to retrieve it, she discovered it had been taken without her permission. Investigation continues; report taken.

8/05/09 - 6:15 pm: Grand theft from Womens' Team Room at MC. Employee reported that the team camcorder and tripod were missing from the Team Room, along with nine pairs of sweat shirts and sweat pants, and four video cassettes. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/12/09 - 2:50 pm: Grand theft from OC EOPS office. Victim left her iPhone along with a sweater and purse, on top of a desk while she met with a counselor for a few minutes; when she returned, she missed the iPhone and confronted 2 male subjects in the room, who ignored her and walked out to their vehicle. She was able to obtain a license plate and provided it to Campus Police. Report taken, further investigation pending.

8/13/09 - 2:30 pm: Graffiti at VC Sci Bldg, south elevator. Unknown person(s) wrote on the elevator sign, in wide black marker, "DHF." Also on the "No Smoking" sign above the door, marked in purple ink, are the letters "OCPK." 

8/13/09 - 4:30 pm: Petty theft from MC Bookstore. Victim was using computer in bookstore and had set her wallet down on the computer table. She left the computer without wallet; when she returned a few minutes later, wallet had been taken. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/17/09 - 12:00 pm: Grand theft from OC Athletic Bldg. Victim reported leaving a laptop computer in his office; upon returning to office a few hours later, laptop was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/17/09 - 3:40 pm: Vandalism at overflow lot at MC. Victim reported unknown person(s) drew obscene pictures in the dust on her car. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/18/09 - 11:15 am: Threats made at OC. Victim came into the OC Police Station to report that a male subject (her former boyfriend) was following her around campus and threatening her. Upon interview by Campus Police, the male subject admitted he had threatened to physically injure the victim if she went into the Police Station. Subject had prior arrests for domestic battery and criminal threats; OC Police officer arrested subject and took him to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked without incident. Another OC Police officer assisted victim in obtaining a restraining order against subject.

8/18/09 - 12:00 pm: Graffiti discovered in mens' restroom in VC Science Bldg. The words "CAMPO X3 HOLLOW" were written in blue pen on the wall. Report taken; investigation continues.

8/19/09 - 3:20 pm: Violation of restraining order at VC. Reporting Party (protected person #1) reported seeing subject with another protected person (his daughter) ; also, subject walked past RP and glared at him, which constituted another violation. Report taken and sent to DA's office.

8/19/09 - 4:50 pm: Violation of restraining order at VC. Employee reported seeing subject speaking with a certain female protected party that he knew subject was not supposed to contact. Campus police contacted the protected party, who admitted she saw the subject, but did not talk to him. Investigation continuing.

8/20/09 - 9:30 pm: Arson in mens' restroom in Bldg P at VC. Unknown suspect(s) placed unknown burning object into the plastic trash can inside the mens' restroom. No suspects or witnesses; investigation continuing.

8/21/09 - 12:00 pm: Grand theft from AA lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) possibly used a tool to enter victim's vehicle and remove a car stereo, USB drive and currency. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/21/09 - 12:30 pm: Vehicle burglary from W-lot at VC. Victim reported that unknown person(s) had entered locked vehicle and removed stereo, wallet and speakers. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/21/09 - Between 5:00 pm and 10:00 am on 8/22: Petty theft of mountain bike from behind Zoo at MC. Victim parked unlocked mountain bike on Friday at 5:00 pm; when she returned the next morning, it was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/21/09 - Between 2:30 and 9:00 am 8/24/09; Petty theft of 10-speed bicycle from EATM. Victim reported that between the subject times and dates, someone removed his 10-speed bike (with a flat rear timre) from EATM without his permission. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/22/09 - 11:00 am: Officers were called by a cadet to a fight in progress on S. Campus and Estates Way at VC. Upon arrival, both parties had been separated; officers interrogated both subjects, determined one was the aggressor, and arrested him for battery upon school grounds. Subject was booked into Ventura County Main Jail without incident.

8/23/09 - 1:55 pm: Officers arrested a subject for walking around the VC Swap Meet for indecent exposure. Subject was booked into County Main Jail without incident.

8/24/09 - 1:30 pm: Vandalism to light fixture in mens' room at Math/Science Bldg at VC. Suspect was detained and eventually confessed to marking light fixture with a paint marker. Officer noted strong alcoholic odor coming from suspect, who stated he had had 15 beers and half a bottle of vodka the night before, had gone to sleep at 4 am, and woke at 10 am. Suspect was cited and released for vandalism.

8/25/09 - 12:00 pm: Petty theft from Fitness Center at VC. Victim left backpack, containing his wallet, in the storage cubbies at the Fitness Center while he worked out. When he left the area, he went to the VC library, where he discovered his wallet was missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/25/09 - 9:30 pm: Petty theft from LRC classroom at OC. Victim left wallet on top of his desk at approximately 9:30 am; at 10:50, he noticed it missing. He cancelled his debit card with his bank, and was advised that 2 transactions had been made. Victim is going to provide OCPD with copies of statements. Case status: pending further investigation.

8/25/09 - 10:00 pm: Vehicle burglary from Parking Lot B at OC. Victim's front driver's side window had been broken and an iPod stolen. Victim also reported that a cigarette had caused a burn mark on the seat. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

8/26/09 - 9:30 am: Grand theft from classroom at VC. Victim forgot purse and left class. She remembered it around 11:00 am, and returned to the classroom, but it was gone. The instructor remembered 3 males sitting near where the bag had been, but couldn't remember seeing the purse. Report taken; investigation pending.

8/28/09 - 9:40 am: Graffiti at OC counseling office. Pen marks made on a chair. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

 8/31/09 - 9:00 am: Vandalism in South Hall, Rm 6, at OC. Instructor reported that sometime between 8/27 and 8/31, unknown suspect(s) used brown paint to deface mural. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

8/31/09 - 11:45: Petty theft from Cafeteria at OC. Employee called Campus Police to report that inventory from the cafeteria was being taken. In addition, the employee had a Hawaiian lei containing money hanging in her office, which was also stolen. Report taken, investigation pending.

8/31/09 - 1:00 pm: Battery at Fountain Hall stairs, at MC. Victim reported to Campus Police that she was pushed downstairs by another student (who used to date victim's boyfriend.) Victim suffered a scraped knee and pain to her left shin. Officers took report and suggested that victim obtain an restraining order against the perpetrator.
