Marketing Specialist Dina Pielaet was recently honored for her creativity and contributions in the arts community by the City of Ventura Mayor Erik Nasarenko at the 12th annual Mayor’s Arts Awards reception held at the Museum of Ventura County. Pielaet was one of several nominations that was submitted by the public and reviewed by the awards selection committee and chosen by Nasarenko and the City’s Cultural Affairs Commission for final approval. The committee included Cultural Affairs Commissioner and Museum of Ventura County Director of Development Betsy Chess; Museum of Ventura County Curator of Exhibits and Collections Anna Bermudez; and Public Art Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of BBM&D Strategic Branding Barbara Brown.
Established in 2005, the Mayor’s Arts Awards recognize the contributions to the cultural community by city residents, artists, educators, organizations and business leaders. The Mayor’s Arts Awards “cultivate a greater visibility and understanding of the value of the arts to the public at large and are one small way to say ‘well done’ and ‘thank you’ to all of the participants in our creative community – for their contributions, their dedication and their passion to serve our city through the arts,” says Nasarenko.
The Ventura County Community College District is proud to have Pielaet as an integral part of the District’s marketing team and one of the visionaries behind its “PictureUHere” campaign. We appreciate Dina for her contributions to the VCCCD and congratulate her on this special honor!
