Oxnard College and Be the Match are partnering up to find the cure for blood cancers. Two years ago, Dr. Shane Frehlich, CSUN Faculty President and Professor of Kinesiology was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). After four rounds of chemotherapy, he was declared cancer free.
Shane’s wife, Dianne Frehlich, a Health Instructor at Oxnard College is asking for your help. Shortly after their 3rd son was born, Shane was admitted to the hospital because the cancer came out of remission. His only chance to cure this illness is a marrow transplant. No one in his family is a match, so he is searching the Be the Match registry for matches.
We are asking you to help Shane and thousands of other patients in need of a marrow transplant. Join us at the event to register to be a donor through BE THE MATCH Registry and see if you are a match for Shane or any patient in need. There is a match out there somewhere for every patient…you could be the one to save a life!
