Music Exposed, February 2, March 9, April 6

The Ventura College Music Department will present a series of Monday Evening Concerts entitled:  MUSIC EXPOSED, a musical Informance series.  This three-concert series will feature informal and interactive performances hosted by each of the full-time faculty members at Ventura College.

 The series begins this year on Monday, February 2, 2015 hosted by Professor Leslie Drayton and will feature Kayumanggi: The Filipino-American Experience led by Ventura College’s woodwind instructor, Dr. Wendy Mazon.

 "Kayumanggi- The Filipino-American Experience" is an exploration into the heart and soul of the Filipino-American. Performing original compositions and unique arrangements of Filipino folk and patriotic songs by the group's own Dee Pizarro, the Kayumanggi Quartet will take you on a rare and unique musical journey exploring the history of the Filipino-American experience. 

 The Kayumanggi Quartet consists of Dr. Wendy Mazon, clarinet; Cheryl Lopez, flute; Loui Paman, guitar; and Dee Pizarro, keyboards, electric bass and bandurria. 

 On Monday, March 9, 2015, Robert Lawson will host Los Angeles Percussion Quartet. This Grammy-nominated ensemble is led by Ventura College faculty member, Matt Cook.

 Professor Brent Wilson will perform at the last performance in the series on Monday, April 6, 2015.  

 Each Monday performance will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will take place in the Ventura College Performing Arts Center, 4700 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, CA 90003.

 Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 students/seniors
