CLIMATE CHANGE IN THE 21ST CENTURY, SEMINAR FEBRUARY 5
MOORPARK COLLEGE HOSTS CAL STATE UNIVERSITY, CHANNEL ISLANDS
Moorpark College invites students, faculty, staff, and the community to join California State University, Channel Islands Simone Aloisio, Ph.D., in a lecture on “Climate Change in the 21st Century,” Friday, February 5, 2016, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (7075 Campus Road, PS-207 (Physical Science Building second floor Room 207, Moorpark, CA). The presentation will kick-off the first of a series of bi-monthly seminars hosted at Moorpark College to allow CSUCI faculty to share research and help build a stronger partnership between the institutions. “Climate Change in the 21st Century” will address how climate change is effecting mercury concentrations in soil, water, and food.
Aloisio has been a faculty member at CSUCI since 2003 and the Chemistry Department Chair since 2007. His focus is air and water pollution, including the relationship between ozone and weather conditions to predict how changing conditions may effect air pollution. Aloisio holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University. He teaches general, analytical, and environmental chemistry.
