10/1/12 - 12:30 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in PA lot at MC. Victim reported to Campus Police that he had parked his vehicle in the PA lot and proceeded to class. Upon returning to his vehicle, he noticed minor damage to his passenger side front fender and bumper. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

10/2/12 - 8:15 am: Vandalism to vehicle in B lot at MC. Victim reported unknown suspect(s) used unknown sharp object to scratch lines on both driver's and passenger's sides. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

10/2/12 - 9:30 am: Vehicle burglary in H-lot at OC. Victim came to Campus Police to report unknown subject(s) entered vehicle via unknown means and removed her property without her permission. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

10/3/12 - 8:00 pm: Petty theft from custodial closet at MC. Employee reported theft of two boxes of nitrile gloves. After review of video, officer was able to find suspect and contact him. Suspect was cited and released for petty theft, and advised not to return to campus, under threat of arrest for trespass. Report taken.

10/4/12 - 2:00 pm: Public intoxication/alcohol on school grounds at VC. Officers responded to a report of subject, who appeared to be under the influence, disrupting a class. Officers made contact with subject, who smelt strongly of alcohol, was slurring his speech, and was weaving from side to side. Since subject was unable to care for himself, he was placed in protective custody and taken to County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident. Report taken.

10/5/12 - 9:40 am: Suspicious package in MC library. Officer responded to report of small package left on table in library, with the words "DO NOT OPEN" hand-written on the lid. VC Sheriff's Office was contacted and asked to respond with their Bomb Squad. The box turned out to be non-threatening; report taken. 

10/8/12 - 2:00 pm: Child endangerment at OC. Witnesses reported to Campus Police that they saw a woman shaking and slapping a female child violently. Officers responded and determined child's grandmother had slapped the child. At time of interview, child appeared happy and energetic. Child protective services were contacted for follow up; report taken.

10/8/12 - 6:00 pm: Alcohol on school grounds at MC. Officer responded to report of people drinking alcohol in a vehicle on school grounds. Officer made contact with subjects, who stated they were relaxing between classes. Officer confiscated two cans of beer and cited and released subjects. Report taken.

10/9/12 - 10:20 am: Theft from LRC bldg at VC. Victim came to Campus Police to report she had taken her laptop to the ladies' room, but inadvertently left it on top of the paper towel dispenser. When she returned, it was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

10/11/12 - 12:15 pm: Threats at OC. Victim reported to Campus Police that she had been verbally accosted and physically threatened by a fellow student while filming a project. Subject was verbally abusive to victim and threatened physical harm after a confrontation regarding the project. Officer made contact with both the subject and instructor. Instructor said subject was remorseful for his actions and has been warned that should he act up again, he will be terminated from the project. Report taken and forwarded to Dean of Student Discipline.

10/14/12 - 3:45 pm: Stolen dog from VC Marketplace. Officer responded to report of dog stolen. Victim told officer his three-year-old daughter was carrying their new puppy, when the daughter came running up to him crying and saying a man took her dog. Suspect may be identifiable; investigation continues. Report taken.

10/15/12 - 3:30 pm: Theft from vehicle in A-lot at MC. Victim came to report unknown suspect(s) entered his locked vehicle through unknown means to take property from back seat. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

10/16/12 - 12:30 pm: Suspicious subject at VC. Victim reported subject got on elevator with her in the LRC and was acting very oddly. She suspected he was under the influence of something, but did not smell alcohol. The subject made her extremely uncomfortable and nervous. Report taken.

10/16/12 - 5:00 pm: Possession of controlled substance at MC. During a routine patrol, officer noticed three people sitting in car parked in handicapped stall in the F parking lot at MC. Upon approaching the vehicle, officer detected a strong aroma of burnt marijuana. He asked occupants for identification and registration, then requested permission to search the car. During search, officer discovered marijuana cigarettes, drug paraphernalia, and a plastic bottle with a white powdery substance in it, which later turned out to be cocaine. Driver was arrested and transported to County Main Jail without further incident. One passenger was also cited and released for possession of marijuana. Report taken. 

10/17/12 - 9:30 am: Burglary from MCE bldg at VC. Officer responded to report of property taken from a classroom in the MCE bldg. Investigation continues. Report taken.

10/24/12 - 2:25 pm: Theft of skateboard from OC Library. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report unknown person stole her skateboard from the library. Video surveillance showed a male subject walking out of the library with a skateboard matching description. Investigation continues. Report taken.

10/26/12 - 4:00 pm: Burglary from MCE bldg at VC. Officer was contacted by employee reporting missing equipment from MCD bldg classroom, possibly related to prior incident. Investigation continues. Report taken.

10/29/12 - 2:10 pm: Warrant arrest at VC. Officer responded to report of intoxicated subject harassing females on the west side of the MCE bldg. Upon contact, officer found out that the extremely intoxicated subject had a warrant. Subject was arrested and transported to County Main Jail without further incident. Report taken.

10/31/12 - 10:40 am: Theft from locker in Fitness Center at VC. Victim reported seeing unknown female looking in her wallet; other victim reported missing cash. Employee reported he can identify suspect. Investigation continues. Report taken.

10/31/12 - 3:20 pm: Vandalism to vehicle parked in B-lot at MC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report unknown person vandalized her vehicle. She suspects someone, but has no proof. Report taken.
