9/2/09 - 7:45 pm: Subject causing disturbance at OC Library. Officer was called to the Library because there was a person (not a student) causing a disturbance. A student needed to use a computer and the subject would not relinquish it. He also would not respond to the Librarian when he asked the subject if he was a student. The officer asked the subject whether he was a student, and subject responded, "Yes." Officer then asked the subject for information and the subject refused to answer. The officer advised the subject he could be arrested for obstruction of an officer in his duty; the subject responded he would not provide information. Upon this refusal, the officer placed the subject under arrest. When the officer searched the subject for concealed weapons, he found a drivers' license and was able to determine from the information that the subject was not in fact a student. The officer then transported the subject to Ventura County Main Jail and booked him without incident; report taken.

9/3/09 - 3:30 pm: Sexual battery (misdemeanor) at OC. Suspect walked victim to class and poked her on the buttocks, telling her that it was not his fault she had very nice buttocks. A few hours later, victim and suspect met outside the OC Library. They went inside to look for an instructor, and when they didn't find the instructor, they went outside again, where they parted with a hug. While hugging the victim, suspect squeezed her buttocks with his right hand. Police confronted suspect; he admitted to touching the victim's buttocks twice, and said he regretted his actions. Case was closed by misdemeanor arrest cite and release.

9/05/09 - 9:20 am:  Vandalism at VC auto shop yard. Officers discovered orange spray paint on the roadway located on the east side of the automotive building. Various words and an obscene drawing were painted onto the roadway. A spray paint can was found approximately 4 feet away from the drawing. Officers dusted it for fingerprints. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/05/09 - 9:00 pm: Battery at VC athletic stadium. Victim and victim's ex-husband were present at a football game held at VC, where their son was playing. Suspect approached victim, spoke roughly, grabbed her neck, arm and face, then bit her on the ear. He then left. Victim contacted officers to report the battery; officers assisted victim to complete an Emergency Protective Order, then located suspect and arrested him without incident. Suspect was transported and booked into Ventura County Main Jail.

9/06/09 - 11:40 am: Battery at OC Swap Meet. A 13-year-old boy was attacked by a 14-yr old boy. Suspect was gone when officers arrived on scene; parents of boy declined medical transportation and stated they would follow up with their own doctor. Report taken.

9/08/09 - 12:00 pm: Theft from G-lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) unlocked vehicle with unknown tool and took victim's wallet GPS device and stereo. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/10/09 - 2:56 pm: Mutual combatants in the AA-lot at MC. Student was leaving his vehicle when he was verbally accosted by 3 other students, who made vulgar remarks about his shirt. The victim responded in kind and approached the 3. One of the suspects told the victim that he should leave before there was a problem, the victim responded he was not going to leave, the suspect then escalated the situation by reaching out and crushing a cup the victim was holding. The suspect then took a fighting stance and threw a punch at the victim, who responded by striking back at the suspect. The suspect then placed the victim in a headlock, during which time the victim was kneed in the forehead. The fight was stopped by an unknown female yelling at the combatants. The suspect then got into his vehicle and left. Victim was left with a dent in his vehicle, a torn shirt and had lost his prescription glasses. Police took victim to the Student Health Center, where he was treated for minor soreness to the head. Victim stated he would be able to identify the suspects. Report taken; investigation continuing.

9/10/09 - 8:00 pm:  Theft of cell phone from OC cafeteria. Student came to police station to report that her cell phone had been stolen. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/13/09 - 2:00 pm: Vandalism to vehicle at VC swap meet.Officers received report of vandalism to vehicle. Victim reported that he saw two individuals leaning against his vehicle. One appeared to be writing or scratching upon the door. Upon victim's approach, both individuals left the area. Victim's vehicle sustained minor damage consisting of what appeared to be markings from a white paint marker and minimal scratches. Report taken.

9/14/09 - 12:15 pm: Theft of MP-3 player from vehicle parked in E-lot at VC. Victim reported that unknown suspect(s) removed MP-3 player from unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/15/09 - 9:50 am:  Burglary from overflow lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle. Suspect(s) then removed stereo player and DVD monitor. No suspects or witnesses; report taken. 

9/15/09 - 10:00 am: Burglary from overflow lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle. Upon gaining entry, suspect(s) removed wallet and iPod from glovebox. Victim stated all windows were rolled up and doors were locked. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/15/09 - 10:45 am: Burglary from overflow lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle, then took car stereo and iPod adapter. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/15/09 - 12:40 pm: Burglary from overflow lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle, then took victim's wallet, iPod, and stereo. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/15/09 - 12:55 pm:  Burglary from overflow lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle; then took a stereo player and USB drive from the vehicle. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/16/09 - 12:45 pm: Vandalism to vehicle in PA-lot at MC. Victim reported unknown person(s) keyed driver's side front and rear door of his vehicle. Victim believes the suspect is a female in another vehicle who was waiting for a parking spot that he reached first. He could see by her facial expression that she was upset, but there were no witnesses, nor did he see her actually perform the vandalism. Report taken.

9/16/09 - 2:00 pm: Counterfeit bill passed in Library at VC. Suspect paid for a library fine with a counterfeit $10 bill. Campus police was alerted and bill was sent to the U.S. Secret Service. Investigation pending.

9/16/09 - 4:45 pm: Hit and run (misdemeanor) in the B-lot at MC. Student reported unknown vehicle struck the right front bumper of her car. No witnesses; report taken.

9/17/09 - 8:30 am: Petty theft from track at MC. Victim stated that prior to walking around the track, she placed personal property on the ground where all other students leave their items. When class was over, she discovered her property was missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/18/09 - 11:45 am: Threats of physical harm at VC. Victim reported that an ex-boyfriend had been threatening to physically harm her, through verbal and text messages. Statement taken; investigation continuing.

9/21/09 - 10:00 am: Attempted drug sales at VC. Student came in to the Police Department to report that another student had been trying to enlist the first student's assistance in selling Oxycontin. The first student reported that this was the second request from the seller. Investigation continuing.

9/22/09 - 11:0 am:  Burglary from C lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to unlock victim's vehicle; suspect then entered vehicle and took stereo, GPS device, iPod, cell phone, and currency. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/24/09 - 1:00 pm: Theft from vehicle in A lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) entered vehicle (convertible with top down) and took victim's iPod cassette adapter. Suspect(s) also attempted to gain entry into vehicle glove box, which was locked. Suspect(s) broke the handle on the glove box, but was unable to gain entry. No signs of forced entry to the vehicle. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/24/09 - 2:00 pm: Wallet stolen from purse in County of Ventura bldg at OC. Victim was interviewing clients and left her wallet in unlocked drawer in her office while she made copies. Upon returning to her office, one of the clients was gone; purportedly to use the restroom. When he returned, the first client insisted on using the restroom as well. After the female client had used the restroom, the pair was escorted out of the building by victim. Upon victim's departure from office at 5:00 pm, she noticed her purse was thinner and wallet was missing. Investigation continues.

9/25/09 - 7:45 am: Road rage incident at Loma Vista and Day Roads, in Ventura. VC student was approaching a red light at Day Road, when a vehicle in front of her that was going to turn right, instead went straight, cutting off the student. The student honked her horn, and the driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle, screamed obscenities at the student, and threatened to kill her. The student drove around the suspect, whereupon the suspect returned to her vehicle and followed student for several miles. Student reported incident to campus police; investigation continuing.

9/28/09 - 1:15 pm: Electric bike stolen from south side of Science Bldg at VC. Bike was locked with a cable and combination lock. Victim was standing approximately 50 feet away from it, speaking to a friend. When she turned back, it was gone. No suspect or witness information; report taken.

9/29/09 - 9:00 am: Suspicious subjects on corner of Rose Avenue and North Campus Way, at OC. Officer observed 2 subjects looking into parked vehicles along the subject stretch of road. The officer had knowledge of several vehicle break-ins occurring in that area. He observed them looking into a second vehicle and stopped them. One suspect was withdrawn and would not answer officer's questions; the officer handcuffed the suspect and when questioned further, suspect admitted he had cocaine on his person. Officer searched suspect, and found a plastic bindle containing a white powdery substance that upon field testing, proved to be cocaine;  officer also found a pocket knife. Officer arrested and transported suspect to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked into custody without incident.

9/29/09 - 10:00 am:  Hit and run (misdemeanor) in G-lot at MC. Student flagged down officer as he was passing by and reported that unknown vehicle had struck her vehicle's right passenger side. There was a note left on the vehicle, but when student contacted that number, the person claimed to not have children attending MC, nor did anyone else have access to their vehicles. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/29/09 - 4:45 pm: Disorderly subjects at Golf Center lot at MC. Officer was citing vehicles parked illegally, when he was confronted by a large group of males. One of the males was upset that the officer was writing him a citation and became verbally abusive. The officer called for backup; when the group heard the officer calling for backup, they left, shouting obscenities as they went. The officer was able to obtain a license plate number for one of the vehicles and an investigation is continuing.

9/29/09 - 5:00 pm: Theft of iPod from classroom at VC. Student left iPod in classroom, and when he returned it was gone. Report taken.

9/29/09 - 7:00 pm: Criminal vandalism to TR-5 at VC. Police cadet and instructor opened door to TR-5. They detected an alcoholic odor and found an empty bottle of vodka lying on the floor with contents poured out. Also, a Dell computer and monitor had been placed in a trashcan that was partially filled with an unknown liquid (possibly urine.) In addition, there were burn marks on the white board, a projector had been thrown onto the floor and damaged, and the projector screen's cord had been burned. No suspects or witnesses; investigation pending.
