9/4/12 - 8:50 am: Vehicle burglary from W-lot at VC. Victim reported to Campus Police that unknown suspect entered her vehicle through unknown means and removed her property. No suspect or witnesses; report taken.

9/4/12 - 9:20 am: Stolen bicycle from rack in W-lot at VC. Victim reported to Campus Police that unknown suspect took his motorized bicycle from the rack. Case pending further investigation; report taken.

9/4/12 - 11:00 am: Annoying text messages at OC. Victim came to Campus Police to report unknown person continuously sending personal messages to her. Officer advised victim to change phone number. Report taken.

9/4/12 - 3:20 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in G-lot at MC. While on patrol, officer was flagged by victim, who reported that unknown vehicle struck his vehicle's bumper, causing minor damage, and fled without providing insurance information. Report taken.

9/4/12 - 4:35 pm: Altercation in women's restroom in HSC bldg at VC. Employees reported hearing a fracas in women's restroom. Officers responded but subjects were gone on arrival. A picture frame in the restroom had apparently been damaged during the altercation. During investigation, the 2 female subjects were found and interviewed, and advised a student conduct referral would be issued against both. They were also admonished about fighting on campus. 9/5/12 - 6:20 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in C-lot at MC. Victim came to Campus Police to report that unknown vehicle struck her vehicle, causing moderate damage, and fled, leaving no insurance information; however, witnesses were able to provide the victim with a license plate number. Officers were able to contact the driver, who stated he did not realize his vehicle had struck the victim's. Report taken.

9/7/12 - 12:30 pm: Theft from vehicle in W-lot at VC. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to vehicle by unknown means and removed victim's property. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

9/9/12 - 11:00 am: Misuse of handicapped placard at VC. Officer was on patrol when he saw two subjects placing items in a vehicle parked in a disabled person's parking space. Officer made contact with subjects and requested proof of registration for the placard. Subjects were unable to provide registration, and were cited and released. Placard was seized as evidence. Report taken.

9/10/12 - 8:20 pm: Battery on campus at VC. Officers responded to report of people arguing near MAC bldg at VC. Victim's ex-girlfriend came to his class to talk to him. He stepped out of class, and while they were arguing, subject slapped victim in the face. Victim's friend came out in support of victim and subject attacked friend as well. Victim subdued attacker as officers arrived on scene. Subject refused medical aid, and was cited and released for misdemeanor battery. Report taken.

9/12/12 - 1:00 pm: Harassment at VC. Victim came to Campus Police to report that unknown suspect(s) had left masticated gum and spittle on her windshield and driver side door handle for the second time this semester. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/14/12 - 12:15 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in F-lot at MC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report unknown vehicle had struck her vehicle and fled, leaving no insurance or contact information. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/16/12 - 11:05 am: Animal left in hot vehicle during VC Swap Meet. Officer responded to report of dog in unattended vehicle. Upon arrival, officer determined the interior of the vehicle was much warmer than the outside, even with the windows down 1-1/2 inches. There was no water visible for the animal and the officers decided to remove the dog for its safety. Owner appeared as the dog was about to be transported, and was cited and released for animal endangerment.

9/17/12 - 9:50 am: Disruptive subject at OC. Officer was making a traffic stop on a vehicle when he was verbally assaulted by the passenger. The passenger had a skateboard and was holding it in a threatening manner while he impeded the officer's traffic investigation. Subject was cuffed and placed in patrol car until the officer could complete traffic investigation. Once the investigation was completed, the disruptive subject was interviewed and released along with an admonishment to leave the campus. He was seen an hour and a half later on his skateboard, and was arrested for trespassing. His name was also submitted to the Dean of Student Discipline. Report taken.

9/17/12 - 11:55 am: Theft of laptops from classroom at VC. Employee contacted Campus Police to report that two laptops, used during class, were missing. Report taken; investigation pending.

9/19/12 - 7:45 pm: Vehicle with more than 5 parking citations in W-lot at VC. Officer responded to report of scofflaw vehicle parked on campus. She initiated tow truck to arrive. Driver appeared on scene and was cooperative; she was permitted to remove personal property from the vehicle. Tow truck removed vehicle, and driver was given instructions on how to retrieve vehicle. Report taken.

9/20/12 - 2:20 pm: Unlawful weapons on campus at MC. Officers responded to report of student having several knives and martial arts weapon in backpack during class. Officers made contact with subject and determined he had a police-style baton and a knife on his person. Subject was cited for possession of weapons on campus and released. Report taken.

9/24/12 - 1:30 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in B-lot at MC. Victim reported to officer that unknown vehicle struck her vehicle while it was parked and fled without leaving any contact or insurance information. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/25/12 - 2:40 pm: Theft from LLR at MC. Victim came to Campus Police to report unknown suspect took his cell phone from the LLR while it was charging. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

9/25/12 - 6:00 pm: Misuse of handicapped placard at F-lot at MC. Officer was patrolling when he saw subject sitting in vehicle parked in disabled person's stall. He approached driver and requested registration for placard. Subject stated it was his girlfriend's. Girlfriend came to vehicle and reiterated it was hers; however, registration was not in her name. Officer cited and released female subject for misuse of placard and seized placard. Report taken.

9/20/12 - 2:30 pm: Weapons at MC. Officers received report of individual on campus with weapons and investigated. They found the suspect in class; upon interview, he was found to have a baton and a knife in his pockets. The suspect was transported off campus and advised not to return until he met with the Dean of Student Discipline. Report taken.

 9/24/12 - 5:00 pm: Suspicious subject at VC gym. Officers responded to report of male subject who wandered into gym, laid down on a bench, and stared at volleyball players. Upon contact, officers determined subject had suffered some brain damage and was possibly under the influence of unknown substance. Subject then complained of adrenaline rush and dizziness. EMT was contacted and subject was transported to emergency room for further evaluation. Report taken.

9/26/12 - 9:20 am: Possession of marijuana on VC campus. Officers responded to a report of subject selling marijuana by the west side of the MCW building. Officers searched area, but were unable to locate subject. Officers asked cadet to check surveillance cameras and cadet identified a subject smoking marijuana and sharing it with a group of others. Based on this information, officers were able to make contact with subject, who admitted to possessing a sizeable quantity of marijuana in his backpack. Suspect was cited for possession of marijuana on campus; marijuana, scale and grinder seized as evidence. Report taken.

9/28/12 - 2:00 pm: Fire at Oxnard College nursery. Officer responded to a report of fire at the Oxnard College nursery. He immediately contacted dispatch to request Oxnard Fire Department respond. The fire department took approximately 1-1/2 hours to extinguish the fire. Officer interviewed witnesses, who stated they saw a subject walking on the dirt road east of the nursery. Officer checked the area but was unable to locate anyone. The Fire Department was not able to confirm what started the fire. The fire was completely extinguished by 7:30pm. Report taken.
