11/1/09 - 2:50 pm: Runaway (unmanned) vehicle in H-lot at OC Swap Meet. A van which had been parked in the H-lot slipped out of gear for unknown reasons and rolled into a truck, causing moderate damage to the rear of the truck and rather extensive damage to the back end of the van. Both parties exchanged insurance information; report taken.

11/3/09 - 11:00 am:  Grand theft from Administration Bldg at OC. Victim, an employee, indicated he left for lunch at approximately 12:00 pm and upon return, noticed his laptop was missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/3/09 - 12:40 pm:  Hit and run (misdemeanor) in PA-lot at MC. Victim's vehicle was struck by unknown vehicle and incurred damage to driver's side front fender and bumper. There were no witnesses or suspects; report taken.

11/3/09 - 1:00 pm (approximate): Hit and run (misdemeanor) in A-lot at VC. Victim came to Campus Police on 11/4 to report that her car had been stuck the day before, but she did not notice the damage until she got home. Unknown vehicle struck victim's rear passenger door and left a large black transfer streak from rear passenger door to rear bumper. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

11/3/09 - 1:40 pm: Petty theft from bookstore at MC. Suspect was arrested for stealing textbooks from a backpack; he was read his rights and then interviewed, where he confessed to stealing used textbooks rather than new ones, so as to be less suspicious. He was then taken to Ventura County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident.

11/3/09 - 3:10 pm: Grand theft from administration bldg at OC.Victim contacted Campus Police to notify his laptop had been stolen from his office while victim was at lunch. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/4/09 - 10:30 am: Petty theft from men's gym locker room at OC. Victim reported he had been storing items in the locker since August 09; on the subject date and time, he found the lock removed and his property removed. No witnesses or suspects. Report taken.

11/4/09 - 11:30 am: Theft from vehicle in dirt lot at MC. Victim parked car and locked it. Upon returning, he found unknown suspect(s) had entered via unknown means and taken a stereo, iPod and clothing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/5/09 - 11:30 am: Hit and run (misdemeanor) in AA-lot at MC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report his vehicle had been struck by unknown vehicle who fled the scene. Two separate witnesss left notes on the victim's windshield; they provided license plate number and description of accident. Investigation continues.

11/5/09 - 4:45 pm: Graffiti in 3rd floor men's restroom in VC LRC bldg. Custodian reported to Campus Police that he found markings on the mirror in the men's restroom. Officer responded and interviewed 2 suspicious

11/6/09 - 12:40 pm: Petty theft from and vandalism-OC classroom. Officer responded to a report from staff member that a DVD/VHS player had been stolen from a classroom; also, a computer CPU had been been vandalized. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/10/09 - 11:00 am: Fraudulent Hit & Run report at MC. Officers had located a subject vehicle that was involved in a hit & run collision earlier at MC. Upon confronting the subject, he admitted he was the responsible party in the collision, and wrote a written confession. Subject was cited and released for misdemeanor hit and run.

11/11/09 - 11:50 am:  Grand theft from auto shop at VC. Instructor left prescription sunglasses and cell phone on her desk while class moved into the shop area; when she returned, they were gone. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

11/11/09 - 2:50 pm: Hit and run (misdemeanor) in A-lot at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report that an unknown vehicle had caused damage to the left rear corner of her vehicle's bumper, and a note was left by a witness with suspect's license plate #. Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle, who stated she left a note for the victim. Suspect was cited and released for misdemeanor hit and run.

11/11/09 - 9:10 pm: Threats against VC instructor made by student. Police responded to a report that a student, who was angry about a grade he received, had made threats against the teacher. Officers contacted the student, who was taken into custody without incident.

11/12/09 - 5:00 pm: Petty theft of bicycle from OC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report that his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack located south of old LRC bldg. Victim had secured his bicycle with a chain and a combination lock. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/14/09 - 8:20 am: Dog bite at VC swapmeet. Victim walked by owner and leashed dog, and dog bit victim on the calf. Victim refused medical attention, but filed police report.

11/15/09 - 11:30 am: Possible fraudulent claim of hit and run in A-lot at MC. Officers responded to a call of possible Hit & Run in A-lot. When they arrived, they inspected the damage to vehicle, the surrounding area, and determined that according to statement by victim, the damage could not have occurred in the manner described by victim. Victim insisted on having a police report written; he was advised about making false statements to a police officer, and requested police report anyway. Digital photos were taken of vehicle and its location, and attached to report.

11/16/09 - 10:30 am:  Disruptive student at OC EAC. Victim reported that she was being threatened by her ex-boyfriend and a friend first via cell phone, then personally on campus, with suspect threatening to kill victim if she didn't stop spreading rumors about him. Upon investigation, suspect stated that victim had been harrassing him and current girlfriend for months. Suspect's girlfriend also reported that victim had been harrassing her on a daily basis, making comments such as "good luck with my ex" and threatening to get someone to beat up girlfriend. Girlfriend stated she sometimes skips school to avoid victim. Investigation continuing.

11/16/09 - 6:15 pm: Petty theft from VC fitness center. Victim left bag with her property in it on top of storage cubicle while she worked out. When she returned, bag and contents were gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/17/09 - 12:20 pm: Hit and run (misdemeanor) in AA-lot at MC. Officer met with victim in lot to investigate the hit & run. Unknown vehicle collided with driver side passenger door and fender. No suspects or witnesses; report taken. 

11/18/09 - 1:45 pm:  Grand theft from LRC at VC. Victim was making copies and set her phone down. When she finished making the copies, her phone was gone. Unknown suspect(s) took phone while victim was occupied. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

11/19/09 - 12:30 pm: Domestic violence at VC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report that her estranged  husband had struck her in the face. She had met him as she was leaving her class and he asked her an offensive question, then struck her on the left side of the face with his closed fist. Officer took pictures and recommended she obtain a restraining order.

11/19/09 - 7:00 pm: Suspicious circumstances in E-lot at VC. A cadet was advised by unknown witness that suspect was seen walking around the E-lot, checking whether vehicles' doors were open. Officer responded and found suspect sitting in his vehicle. He insisted he had only been trying to find his vehicle. Report taken.

11/19/09 - 7:30 pm: Arson in P bldg men's room at VC. Unknown person(s) used unknown ignition device to start a fire in the paper towel dispenser. One student was treated for smoke inhalation. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

11/19/09 - 10:30 pm: Arson in MAC bldg men's room at VC. Unknown person(s) used unknown ignition device to set fire to plastic trash can. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/24/09 - 10:15 am: Theft from gym at OC. Victim reported securing locker on 11/23 and arriving on 11/24 to find property missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

11/24/09 - 4:15 pm: Officer responded to a report of a person possibly brandishing a handgun on campus. He interviewed reporting person, who stated that as she was driving on Campus Road, she saw a vehicle approaching her. The driver pointed a handgun at her. The suspect then turned into another parking lot and left. Suspect was gone on arrival when officers appeared on scene. Report taken.
