7/01/09 - 10:00 am: Vandalism to student's car in W-lot at VC. Victim reported to police that he found his vehicle marked with unknown sharp object. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

7/01/09 - 4:30 pm: Petty theft of money from purse in classroom at OC. Instructor asked students to step outside of the class, in order to complete an assignment. Victim returned to the classroom approximately 20 minutes later to find some money was stolen from her purse. Report taken. A suspect was later identified and interviewed, and confessed to taking property from the classroom while the students were out; students were content with return of their property and declined to press charges. Case closed.

7/02/09 - 3:00 pm: Petty theft of copy code from VC Copy Center. 2 suspects were copying a textbook with a stolen copy machine access code. When confronted, at first they said they had been given the code by an instructor, but later confessed. One suspect was eventually cited and released for petty theft.

7/02/09 - 8:50 pm: Petty theft of watch from VC (north side of CRC Bldg.) Victim, an instructor, had his criminal justice class outside for a demonstration; he placed his watch on the sidewalk and was watching it. While teaching class, he was momentarily distracted and when he looked back, his watch was gone. One suspect was identified, but victim did not actually see victim take watch. Report taken. UPDATE: Campus Police contacted victim to advise watch was turned into Lost And Found.

7/08/09 - 3:30 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in M Lot at MC. Unknown vehicle struck victim's driver-side rear passenger door and fled. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

7/12/09 - 2:30 pm: Grand theft of 5 computers from NH-6 at Oxnard College. Unknown suspect(s) smashed a window to gain access to room, and took 5 computers. No suspects; investigation continues. Report taken.

7/13/09 - 1:00 pm: Petty theft from backpack in classroom at OC. Victim left backpack in class while she went to restroom; when she returned, she noticed her iPod was missing from the backpack. There are no suspects or witnesses; report taken.

7/20/09 - 8:50 pm: Domestic violence in the VC Athletic Center. While turning on lights in the Athletic Center, 2 cadets observed suspect strike victim in face; they contacted officers who responded and took statements and photos from victim, suspect and witnesses. Investigation continuing. 

7/21/09 - 10:00 am: Grand theft of laptop computer from OC Student Service Center. Victim, an employee,  left laptop under desk; when he returned, laptop was missing. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

7/22/09 - 11:20 pm: Hit & run (misdemeanor) in the EATM compound at MC. A vendor's truck traveling southbound collided with the monkey's fence and fled. A witness was able to identify the vehicle; investigation pending.

7/23/09 - 3:30 pm: Petty theft from Fitness Center at VC. Victim had placed his wallet in storage area while working out; it was taken without his permission by unknown person(s). No witnesses; report taken.

7/25/09 - 7:30 am: Public intoxication at VC. Officer found subject staggering along Telegraph Road, drinking from what appeared to be a can of beer. When the officer made contact with the subject, he found the subject had slurred speech, was not able to answer questions, nor was he able to stand without assistance. Subject was transported and booked at Ventura County Jail.

7/27/09 - 9:00 am: Graffiti in womens' restroom in LMC at MC. Custodian discovered graffiti in red marker on handicap stall wall. No suspects or witnesses.
