2/1/10 - 3:00 pm:  Assault and criminal threats at OC. Victim was threatened, attacked, and beaten by girlfriend's ex-boyfriend and two other assailants while he was walking to his car. One suspect was arrested the next day and transported to Ventura County Main Jail without further incident; investigation continues.

2/2/10 - 12:45 pm:  Petty theft from bookstore at MC. Officer was advised by bookstore personnel that there was a theft suspect in custody, and upon arrival met with the suspect. Officer interviewed the suspect who stated that he had come to the campus to try and sell back an old text book; when he was told the bookstore would not buy back the book, he placed a new text inside the old one (so he could sell the new text back.) When he walked out of the bookstore, the alarm sounded and bookstore personnel stopped the suspect. Officer cited and released the suspect for petty theft.

2/2/10 - 3:00 pm:  Grand theft from the Performing Arts bldg at MC. Victim came into the Police Station at MC to report theft of his laptop computer from a locked room. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

2/3/10 - 2:40 pm:  Grand theft from vehicle in H-lot at OC. Victim reported that he parked and secured his vehicle at 12:20 pm; when he returned, he discovered that the catalytic converter had been removed from his vehicle's exhaust system. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

 2/4/10 - 1:20 pm:  Annoying phone calls and emails at VC. Student came to report that she is receiving unwanted contact from her ex-boyfriend. She is concerned because the suspect has been known to behave in a schizophrenic, paranoid manner and has been heard to make vague threats. The police officer who took the report gave the student the department phone number and advised her to call right away if there is a further problem between the student and the ex-boyfriend, or if she feels that he is stalking her. An escort was also arranged for her, for when she leaves the campus at night.

2/4/10 - 2:50 pm:  Theft of bicycle from the east side of the Math/Science bldg at VC. Victim reported locking his bicycle and helmet with a cable and lock. When he returned, it was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/9/10 - 11:25 am:  Theft from vehicle parked in D/E lot at MC. Victim came to Campus Police to report that unknown suspect(s) had cut plastic window of his vehicle and removed property. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

2/9/10 - 2:50 pm:  Hit & run in PA lot at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to advise his vehicle had been struck by another vehicle; he was told by a witness who saw the accident. There were no notes left by the unknown vehicle; report taken.

2/10/10 - 5:00 pm:  Arrest at OC. Officer stopped suspect for not wearing a seatbelt while driving. While interviewing the suspect, the officer noticed a heavy odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of over 3 ounces of marijuana. Suspect was arrested and transported to County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident.

2/11/10 - 2:00 pm:  Hit & run (misdemeanor) in PA-lot at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report that he had received a note from a witness describing how unknown vehicle had collided with his and then left without leaving a note or exchanging information. Report taken.

2/16/10 - 8:15 am:  Petty theft from classroom at VC. Victim had plugged cell phone and charger to an outlet in the classroom; after class was over, she discovered it was gone. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

2/16/10 - 10:00 am:  Animal left unattended in locked vehicle in N lot. Officer responded to a call that a dog had been left in a locked car parked in the direct sunlight, with the windows down slightly, but no water in view. The dog was panting heavily, its tongue was hanging out, and it was howling. Officer and cadets were able to open one of the vehicle's doors and remove the animal, whereupon it was taken to the station. The owner showed up approximately 30 minutes later; the officer explained that the dog had been removed from the vehicle because it was too hot. Officer cited the owner for leaving the animal unattended in a locked vehicle; then released the dog to her.

2/16/10 - 4:15 pm:  Hit & run (misdemeanor) in PA-lot at MC. Unknown vehicle collided with the side rear bumper and tail light of victim's vehicle. No note left; no witnesses or suspects. Report taken.

2/16/10 - 8:15 pm:  Theft from vehicle in CDC lot at VC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report unknown person(s) had removed her purse from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/17/10 - 10:30 am:  Theft from locked vehicle in B-lot at MC. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report unknown suspect(s) entered his locked vehicle (possibly by unzipping the window of his soft-top vehicle) and removing property. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

 2/18/10 - 3:45 pm:  Threats at Moorpark College. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report he was being bullied and threatened by other students. As he was leaving the campus, a vehicle with 3 male suspects yelled threats and obscenities at him. Victim stated this is not the first time this same group of suspects has had contact with him; once before, they threw objects at him from a moving vehicle. Victim does not know why these suspects are picking on him; he does not know them or have classes with them. Report taken; investigation continuing.

2/21/10 - 3:30 pm:  DUI suspect arrested at entrance to Oxnard College. Officer was advised by cadet of a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road on Rose Avenue. When the officer initiated the stop, he noticed the presence of a strong alcoholic odor on the driver's breath. The officer subsequently tested the driver and found him to be under the influence. Suspect was subsequently arrested and transported to County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident.

 2/22/10 - 11:00 am:  Theft from vehicle in E-lot at MC. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to cut rear plastic window of victim's vehicle to gain entry, and took property located on passenger side front seat. No suspects or witnesses; investigation continues.

2/23/10 - 4:00 pm:  Possession of weapon on Oxnard campus. Officer was notified by witness that suspect was pushing a shopping cart in the G-lot, and had hit his dog with his hand because it was barking. Officer made contact with the suspect. Dispatch indicated the suspect was on probation for having a knife on campus; when the officer conducted a pat-down, he discovered two knives on the suspect's person. The suspect was arrested and transported to Ventura County Main Jail, where he was booked without incident. Animal Control took control of the suspect's dog.

2/23/10 - 4:15 pm:  Vandalism in PA bldg at MC. Unknown person(s) took a fire extinguisherand discharged it into a storage closet and surrounding area, causing a smoke detector to set off the fire alarm. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

2/23/10 - 7:10 pm:  Vandalism to vehicle parked in G-lot at OC. Victim came to Campus Police Station to report that someone had scratched her vehicle. Officer inspected the vehicle and found that unknown suspect(s) used an unknown tool to make a long scratch from the vehicle's front bumper to the rear one on both sides of the vehicle. The passenger side door also had three long scratches. No witnesses or suspects; report taken.

2/23/10 - 9:00 pm:  Theft from PA bldg at MC. Officer responded to report of broken door handles to offices, and property taken. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/24/10 - 8:30 am:  Theft from men's locker room at VC. Victim reported that he placed property in his locker and secured the lock. When he returned, the lock was open and the property was gone. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/25/10 - 9:30 am:  Hit & run (misdemeanor) in PA lot at MC. Victim called the Campus Police Station to report that his car had been damaged by unknown vehicle. There was a business card left on the drivers' side window. Suspect was contacted by police; report taken.

2/25/10 - 11:30 am:  Theft from A&R counter at VC. Victim reported she inadvertently left her cell phone on the A&R counter; when she remembered, she went back for it, but it had already been taken. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/26/10 - 10:30 am:  Petty theft from bookstore at VC. Officer made contact with the suspect, who was identified by bookstore employee as the suspect. During the interview, suspect became uncooperative and disruptive. Officer then placed suspect under arrest and transported him to Ventura County Main Jail, where he was booked without further incident.

2/26/10 - 2:00 pm:  Petty theft at OC south of A-lot. Victim came to the Campus Police Station to report property taken from her backpack, which she left unattended at bus stop while she went to get information. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/26/10 - 5:00 pm:  Trespassing on athletic field at MC. Officers found a group of subjects playing football without permission at the field, and riding a bicycle on the synthetic track. During officers' interview, one subject became uncooperative and combative, and was subsequently arrested and transported to East County Jail, where he was booked without further incident.

2/27/10 - 12:35 pm:  Theft from classroom at OC. Victim came to the Campus Polie office to report a theft had occurred during class on 2/20. Victim attended class, and when she arrived home, found her wallet missing from her purse. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.

2/27/10 - 2:20 pm:  Theft from auto parked at OC. Victim reported the drivers' side door of his vehicle was pried open with an unknown tool, possibly a screwdriver, to gain unauthorized access to the vehicle. Unknown suspect(s) took property not belonging to them. No suspects or witnesses; report taken.
