Student Portal
Internet Explorer Users:
In some cases if you are using Internet Explorer you will not be able to access the student information and Banner administrative systems. In this case you will see the following message:

Solution:
Close all Internet Explorer windows, then try logging in again.
Forwarding Student Email:
If you have your own personal email that you would rather use than the student issued my.vcccd.edu email, you can have your email forwarded. To do so, follow these steps:
- After logging into the portal, click the Email icon
in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. - Click the "Settings" link in the upper right-hand corner of your email page.

- On the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab, locate the "Forwarding:" section and click the option to "Forward a copy of incoming mail to ..."

- When prompted, enter your personal email address and click Next.

- You are finished! You can now close the email window if you would like.

Checking Student Email Remotely:
If you wish to check your student email with a stand-alone email application, or from your mobile device, you can! The following links provide more information on how to set up applications to check your student email. It's important to note, your student email account is a "Google Apps" account. Be sure to follow the instructions that are specific to "Google Apps" users when you have the option.
Configuration Information:
- IMAP Clients (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.)
- POP Clients (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.)
- Mobile Devices (iPhone, Blackberry, etc.)
Other Useful Information:
- Your Full Email Address: [your_username]@my.vcccd.edu (What's my user name?)
- Password: If you do not know what your password is, you can set your email password manually by logging into the portal, clicking the "My Account" link in the upper left-hand corner of the window, and setting your password under the title "Set Email Password".
Minimizing Channels:
Did you know that almost every channel can be minimized (collapsed to just the title bar)? This works great when you can't or don't want to remove a channel, but also don't use it very often. It's simple to do: Just click the minimize icon (
) in the upper right-hand corner of any channel.

Getting Help:
Getting help in the MyVCCCD portal just got better. The help information inside the portal has been edited to match the setup of our portal. To get help, you can use the help icon (
) in the upper right-hand corner of the main portal window. Alternatively, some application windows have a different help icon (
) in the upper right-hand corner.
Employee Portal
Adding the Banner Testing Tab:
The Banner Testing tab has been removed from default portal layout and made opt-in. If you would like to access the Banner test databases and applications or need to access the Banner Bookshelf, you will need to subscribe to this tab. For instructions on how to do this, please refer to the document: How to Subscribe to Banner Testing Tab.pdf
