Understanding Course Home & My Home
Both My Home and Course Home likely contain a My Settings widget with links to tools that store your personal information and preferences. You may want to set these options before you start using the system.
- Preferences: Used to change display settings for Desire2Learn.
- Homepage: Used to create a personal homepage.
- Profile: Used to edit your shared personal information.
- View my progress: Used to view your progress in the course
- Locker: Used to store personal files.
Course Home
Course Home is the first page you visit when you enter a course. It contains your personal tools and different widgets for displaying information, including course specific content. Remember that each Course Home page will look a little different depending upon the information and course tools your instructor has put there. When you are in your course, you can return to the Course Home anytime by clicking the link in the navigation bar.
My Home
From My Home, you can set up your profile, edit your preferences, and switch between courses. My Home is also your organization’s homepage, where you can read news items posted for your campus or district.
- My Settings: Edit your personal information using the links in the My Settings widget.
- My Courses: To enter a course, click the course's name. The My Courses widget lists all courses available to you.
- NavBar: Access available tools through the links in the NavBar. Links can appear at the top and bottom and at either side.
