About the VCCCD and Moorpark College
Governed by a five member elected Board and directed by the Chancellor, the Ventura County Community College District serves a growing county of over 800,000 residents and is in one of the faster growing business regions in California.
The district serves more than 32,000 students through three
colleges: Oxnard College, Moorpark College, and Ventura College.
Ventura County growth projections indicate over 900,000 residents by
the year 2015, resulting in growth potential at each of the colleges.

Located on 154 acres of sloping
hillside land in the eastern region of Ventura County, Moorpark College
is the second-oldest and largest of the Ventura County Community
College District’s three colleges. Moorpark College was established by
Board action in 1963 to serve the rapidly growing communities in the
eastern part of the county. Its two sister colleges, Ventura College in
the northwest county and Oxnard College in the southwest, were launched
in 1925 and 1975, respectively.
Moorpark College serves approximately 15,000 students in day,
evening, and weekend classes. The college administrative team includes
an Executive Vice President, a Vice President of Business Services, 8
Deans, 3 Directors, and 9 Supervisors. There are approximately 175
full-time faculty, 400 part-time faculty, and 130 classified employees.
