Project Objectives & Notable Features:

This project provides, within the same overall area, additional parking for more than 250 vehicles by increasing the density of the existing surface parking lots. The Facilities Master Plan depicts a potential East Parking Structure to increase parking potential even more.

Some existing trees were removed as part of this project; however, new trees were added, and the parking lot perimeter was buffered with landscaping.

Implementation Strategy:

This project was targeted early both because of the pent-up demand for additional parking and because the project was limited in scope such that it could be implemented over the summer.

The original project budget was $1.6 million, but the project came in $100,000 under budget and on time.

Total change orders were less than 7% of the project budget.
