Project Objectives & Notable Features:

The new Learning Resources/Telecommunications Center (LRTC) will address a shortage of space for library and independent/remedial learning instruction, as well as a need for faculty retraining in new instructional technologies and distance learning opportunities.

The facility includes space for:

Bookstacks
Reading tables
Group study rooms
Library orientation labs
Library staff and student support
Independent learning center
Language lab
Writing lab
Large and small group tutoring
Distance learning conference room
Media development and support
Offices for LRTC staff

Implementation Strategy:

Part of the LRTC site used for construction materials staging will also serve as a construction staging area for the new Child Development Center, Gymnasium Renovation, EATM facility and, potentially, other projects given its central location on campus. Therefore, this area will not be fully restored until all relevant adjacent construction is completed.
