OXNARD COLLEGE CELEBRATES DEDICATION
OF NEW STUDENT SERVICES AND ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
A Community Open House to dedicate Oxnard College’s new Student Services and Administration building is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2009, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and placement of a commemorative plaque will take place at the entrance of the Oxnard College Student Services and Administration building on October 22 at 4:00 p.m. Following the dedication ceremony, which will involve the Ventura County Community College District Board of Trustees, members of the community will have an opportunity to participate in guided tours of the facilities.
The approximately 38,000 square foot project consists of a two-story student services building and a one-story food services building at the heart of the 118-acre campus in the main quad. “The Student Services and Administration building was designed to be the first point of contact for students,” said Dr. Richard Duran, Oxnard College President. “By consolidating services under one roof – admissions and records, assessment, financial aid, counseling, disabled student services, health services, student business office, the transfer center, and student outreach – students can conveniently use this resource to receive critical academic and administrative support.”
The project is part of the Measure S Bond program made possible by the voters of Ventura County in 2002. “The Board is extremely grateful for the support from the community through Measure S,” stated Robert Huber, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “This state-of-the-art facility and the services provided clearly demonstrate Oxnard College’s commitment to students on its vital and growing campus.”
Light refreshments will be provided. The public is invited to attend, and free parking is available. |
