| You are invited to attend the second annual Green Jobs Summit on Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli Street. The Green Jobs Summit will feature educators, green industry leaders, and government officials. Assemblymember Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara) will present opening remarks along with Ventura Councilmember Brian Brennan, Ventura Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman Jim Duran, and Mike Cheiky, President of Cool Planet Energy Systems, the event’s title sponsor. Panel discussions include “What are Green Jobs?” “Where are the Green Opportunities?” and “Economic Outlook for Green Economics.” Each panel will feature experts in various industries sharing best green practices, from agriculture and green waste recycling to sustainability consulting and a regional green business incubator. Throughout the event, attendees can visit booth exhibits by green businesses and advocacy organizations, the green job fair, and network with employers in green industries. Among event exhibitors and/or sponsors are Ventura County Community College District, City of Ventura, Ventura Chamber of Commerce, Cool Planet Energy Systems, Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance, the Center for Employment Training, and others.
