| The Ventura College Psychology Club is sponsoring its First Annual “Don’t Call Me Crazy!” event on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, starting at 8:30 a.m. The main goal of the event is to increase awareness on mental illness/mental health. Speakers include: 8:30 a.m., MCW 113, Ratan Bhavnani-NAMI, “Mental Illness: Stigma, Resources, Help” and Commander Stadler “Mental Illness and Law Enforcement”; 9:30 a.m., MCE 123, “In Our Voices”; 11:30 a.m., MCE 123 Luis Tovar, “Mental Illness in our Community”; and 12:30 p.m., MCE 123, Dr. Tom Dalton, “Don’t Call Me Crazy – Stop Diagnosing Me!!!” Booths and information resources by the MCW Building: VC Health Center, VC Psychology Club, NAMI, Ventura County Behavioral Health, Cal Lutheran Counseling, Affirmative Action, VC GSA, and more. All types of donations for the Oxnard Rescue Mission will be greatly appreciated (no money or food). |
